How about Tykerb/xeloda?
i had posted before about going on the trial with herceptin and lapatnib together. The other choice for me is Lapatnib/xeloda. I would love to know if anyone out there is on this med and how it's working out. I have been so lucky with herceptin and I'm pretty concerned now that I'm having to move to another treatment.…

To all the new people, I was diagnosed March 08, had a lumpectomy in April, chemo May - July and radiation Aug - Sept.....I'm still in recovery from the ugly side effects of chemo but I'm still here to tell my story and that's good enough for me. Since…

communication
We lived about three years in Kentucky years ago. We liked going to drive-in theaters because it was a good value. Since we were new to the area we stopped at a gas station and asked where the 'out door' was. That's what we called a drive-in theater. The attendant (this was when they came out to the car to pump your gas…

Lymphodema question
During my surgery the DR. accidently cut a vein while removing the lymph nodes. It caused a huge hematoma that took forever to clear up and they are very concerned about my developing problems with lymphodema. So far it's just numbness and tingling...no swelling or soreness, and I have full range of motion with the…

Other women
Do any of you find yourself looking at other women's breasts? I do. In person, on the street, even on tv. I vary between jealousy, envy, to viewing them as potential lethal weapons. Anyone else?

BRCA 1 and ovarian cancer
I am a 50 year old surviving 1 year from stage 4 ovarian cancer. Recently, I tested positive for BRCA 1 gene. My oncologist and internist are pushing the use of tamoxifen even tho BRCA 1 doesn't seem to be blocked by that drug. Just wondered if anyone else had this "combo" and what treatments they received. I would like to…

Good News - Cancer Free
Today I asked my radiation oncologist what tests or scans I would need once my radiation treatments were completed to determine if I was cancer free. I've had a lumpectomy, followed by chemo and now radiation. He looked at me with a big smile on his face. He told me that there are no specific tests for me at this time, and…

Lapatnib/Tykerb?
Hi, I'm new to posting and to the boards. I've been on Herceptin for 6 years and it is apparently not working like it used to. Now, I'm supposed to go on Lapatnib. It was going to be lapatnib/xeloda combo, but now I'm thinking of a clinical trial in which they would keep me on the herceptin and add lapatnib. I'm confused,…

Surviving
This past weekend I was at a minor league baseball game where it just happened to be breast cancer awareness. The players had on pink jerseys and people were handing out BC awareness info, mammogram, SBE etc...One woman seemed a bit lecturing to me and was telling me how "you'd better be careful, listen to...". I finally…
