BPH treatment options years after external beam radiation.
I am 7 years post radiation treatment. My PSA has gone from an 11 to 0.19. I have recently experienced urinary retention, completely unable to urinate, requiring a trip to the ER to be catheterized. I have seen a urologist (my original one retired) and we are discussing treatment options. She stated that the "radiated"…

Hi, Everyone. I'm 51 years old and was diagnosed with prostate cancer a couple weeks ago after an elevated PSA was found in my yearly checkup. This was the first time my PSA was ever tested. First test: 9.5, second time 9.7 with a 2.96 predicted value. Biopsy results came back with two positive results: one at 3+4 in right…

Checking out options
I had a prostate biopsy last Wednesday. My PSA levels had been going up, with my most recent one reading 5.59. Results came back yesterday, and I will speak to my urologist about 'where do we go from here?' on 3/13. Re: the biopsy, 5 samples were negative. 3 were positive, each with a Gleason score of 6, with less than 5%…

Starting the journey at 51
I had a physical in October and my PSA reading was 25 and was referred to a urologist. I had another PSA reading 2 months later and it was up to 27, so the Urologist ordered an MRI. The MRI came back with a lesion on each side grade 3 and 4. This prompted a Biopsy & Cysto which I had on Monday. I get the results on this…

My AUS Procedure
I have read a few posts that describe a different procedure than what I experienced. I had mine in November 2010, so a lot may have changed since the other posts were written. Hey everyone. New here. But I am getting my 6 month PSA checked Tuesday and my anxiety is a little high. I had a robotic prostatectomy 1.5 years ago at 46. Deciding on treatment
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May of 2016 but apparently I have had elevated PSA results for at least 7 years prior to that (army clinic failed to inform me that my PSA was higher than expected in 2008 only to tell me in 2016). My original PSA was 11 but I was checked immediately after the results and it was 5.7…

Pain In Penis 5 weeks post surgery
I am having pain inside my penis 5 weeks after surgery. Worse pain is near base of penis. No pain urinating, flow ok. It is worse at night and keeps me awake. Asked my doctor and he said it is probably due to the nerves being extra sensitive after surgery. Very disconcerting. Anyone with similar problem. Thanks

10 years later...
Greetings, 10 years ago I went through a RP and a month later had 36 treatments of RT. The last 9 of those years after, my PSA was always 0.01 but now seems to be on the incline again, low but different at 0.07 then 0.05. The 0.02 drop 6 months later confused me, is that normal? Thanks in advance.
