Just need a motorcycle & a divorce - Anger & Shock, caregiver fatigue
I was diagnosed Stage IV prostate cancer in the ER after my primary care & urology docs refused to do a PSA test because I was one year too young. I had bone metastasis from my head to my feet. I was 49. The ER doc was in tears giving me the diagnosis. It’s been six years since then, I had to quit my high paying IT job &…

No Lupron side effects. Is this normal?
Been on a 3 month shot of Lupron for over a month. Scheduled for radiation latter this month. I have read all about the horrible side effects of Lupron that can occur. I have always been in good shape. I do 30 minutes of circuit weight trading on machines almost every day and hike with my dogs in the national forest for…

Biopsy results
Hello, Biopsy result shows 3 tumors, two are 3x3, and one is 3x4 for a total gleason score of 7. The report also says that cribriform pattern 4 was identified focally. A quick google search suggests that cribriform presence isn't a good thing, anyone have a similar? See the surgeon tomorrow for discussion on results. Thank…

Hi all, Posting on my father’s behalf. My father had a prostatectomy in January. His PSA has been undetectable since then except for recently (6 months post RP) when it rose to 0.28. My Husband's prostate cancer has come back after 15 years.
My husband was diagnosed in 2007 with prostate cancer. He was given hormone treatment, and radiation treatment. After being monitored by his consultant, and PSA level was coming down . I remember the last time his consultant said that his PSA level was undetectable, he was clear of cancer. Once every 6 months he would take…

PSA Rising Fast after RP
PSA Rising I was first diagnosed with PC at the age of 53. My RP surgery was on 12/20/2020. A week and a half later, I was experiencing a lot of discomfort and morning erections from the catheter, so the doctor removed the catheter. The day after that (12/31/2020), my testicle grew 3x to its regular size, so my daughter…

On opting out of further hormone treatment
I'm 70 years old and was recently diagnosed with PC, Stage 4, Gleason 9. I've been on hormone therapy (Zytiga) for 6 months, with good results (PSA 0.08) but debilitating side-effects. Probably another 3 months, then radiography treatment. After this, I'm considering opting out of further hormone treatment. It's a quality…

Recently diagnosed with Gleason score of 9
My biopsy last week revealed a few fives and sixes but the ugliest was a score of 9. The strange thing though is my PSA score of 5 about six months ago. Because of the high Gleason score, my urologist suggested the DaVinci surgery and a second opinion. After numerous recommendations and a consultation with Dr. Kawachi at…

Treatment after prostate surgery
I know I may be asking this for no reason! I had a RP April of 2023 and have not had post op Psa` yet so I should not be worried yet..but that’s just who I am. Prior to surgery my Psa` was almost 24. Three years earlier ( my previous Psa`) was 3.5 . My Gleason was a 7 (4+3). After surgery I had positive margins and there…

I chose a one-two protocol of Prostate Artery Embolization followed five days later by aquablation. While PAE will significantly shrink the…

Hormone treatment - were you given a choice of methods or drugs?
I am experiencing a biochemical recurrence and might be put on ADT soon. Whether I should head down this path before metastasis detection or not is a moot point - this thread is only about the different types of hormone therapies available and whether anyone was given a choice when they were put on it for whatever reason,…

My Journey. Advice? Words of wisdom?
I would like to begin by thanking everyone for providing such a wonderful resource of knowledge and encouragement. I have been reading the forum for hours. Thoughts on recent diagnosis
I have recently been diagnosed with Prostate cancer and I am trying to justify active surveillance as I really don’t want to endure the side effects from the various treatment types. My first thought is to get a 2nd opinion of the biopsy (of course they might change the score ). Another diagnostic investigation might be…

Hi - I’m 57 and In mid-February I began seeing symptoms of tea colored urine, increased frequency, weak stream which got worse over the next couple of weeks to include fever and an episode of night sweats and finally so much painful urination that I went to the urologist at the beginning of March. cystoscopy - requirement
I'm considering an AUS after 5 years post RALP incontinence. A surgeon in my area (Raleigh) that does them scheduled me for a cystoscopy before he'd even talk to me about the AUS surgery. Is this normal? Actually, I'm more concerned about the cysto than the AUS at this point. Thanks.

Prostate Removal?
Good Morning. I am new to this board. It was suggested by my wife, who had been involved in the forum for many years. So, to summarize, I am 72 years old. DX in 2016 with a Gleason of 6. I've been practicing 'active surveillance' since then. Fast forward to October of last year, with one or two plugs now showing Gleason 7.…

After doing some research on the available options, I was one of…
