The next "Step" after robotic prostatectomy
Good Day. I'm 64, and had a robotic Prostatectomy in Oct 2022. The Dr was confident all cancer was encased in the gland, but the 3 month PSA check was .29. Next PSA check 3 months later was up to .65 so a PETScan was scheduled. A tiny hotspot was on the Prostate bed, and Dr. is recommending radiation treatment. I am…

Robotic Radical Prostatectomy and Rising PSA 15 Years Later
I had a radical prostatectomy at University Hospital in Birmingham in 2008 at age 59. In 2023, at age 74, my PSA had risen to 0.19. I am currently 1/2 completed with 38 radiation treatments at the Cancer Care Center in Jasper. Thus far I have zero adverse reactions. I was a serious life long runner until hip replacement in…

Post RP and SRT journey - oh joy
Hi all I thought I would start a fresh thread as things have changed dramatically. My PSA has rised to 0.24 and I have now started HT (casodex with two three monthly injections of Triptorelin). Back story. PSA rose to 4.0 early last year. Biopsy suggested G7 (4+3). RP surgery (bilateral nerve sparing) confirmed the Gleason…

A roller coaster ride…
I had a new Internist that was a Neurosurgeon in India. He was the only doctor taking new patients in my town (former doctor moved into a clinic with a Chiropractor to save funds on facility costs, but the DC would review the MD anytime he wrote a prescription for a Controlled Substance). My doctor left and decided to just…

Gleason 7 Active Survellance
Yesterday I had a consult with a very good surgeon at the UNM Cancer Center. He does a lot of prostate removals with a high success rate and low side effects. He said because of my previous TURP and bladder opening scaring he would not recommend surgery, as it was sure to cause incontinence. He thought I should try active…

Radical Prostatectomy Recovery Tips
My 55 YO husband is having RP in early September. I'm looking for any tips, ideas to help him recover. Anything I should/shouldn't do? HDR Brachytherapy
My question is to those who experienced HDR Brachytherapy, the treatment and the post surgery results. Recently diagnosed with Pi-RAD 5 lesion. Extracapsular extension suspected. PSA went from 6.9 to 11.5 in 3 months but now 9.0. Urologist offered radical surgery. 2nd Urologist said I should do something so sent me to…

New Diagnosis
Hello, I have been following this board for some time trying to educate myself on PCA. I had a PIRADS4 lesion from MRI ( 6.1 PSA 4K of 27% ) and I attached the results from a just completed fusion biopsy. I do have a Gleason 6 reading. The atypical small acinar proliferation concerns me but I don't see anything over a 6. I…

A few (bizzare) questions for anyone treated
Backstory: My dad's PSA has been increasing steadily since 2018. (from 2.5ish in 2019 to 4.5 now). He's scheduled for MRI. The urologist said given the steady increase he think it's likely to be it's cancer. He's turning 69 and is pretty fragile even for his age- already been through intense chemo/radiation for head and…

Disclosure, I am actually a 56 yr old female, that underwent intense radiation to the pelvis 2 years ago for Anal cancer with progressively worsening neuralgia pain, numbness, tingling to buttocks/pelvis and difficulty sitting for more than 5 minutes that I attribute to nerve damage or entrapment since radiation. I’m at a…

Urination Trick
The best way for me is standing up,but it makes a mess. What I've found is if I hold a wad of toilet paper close and pee into it, it saturates and drains straight down into the toilet. Simple and effective and then I'm good for another 5 minutes!

Shoot i am back after 5 years
Some of you old timers will know who I am.anyway, five years ago at age 57 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My PSA level went up to 7.8. After a long, draining decision and chose to do radiation therapy with the booster. I still think I made a wrong decision but I have to live with it. PSA dropped down to 0.8. But…
