Decision time. ADT holiday or add Secondary Agent? Please advise!
In 2010 at the age of 59, I had Da Vinci surgery with a Gleason 4+5=9 and PSA of 9. Post surgical biopsy showed all margins clear with no seminal vesicle involvement and Gleason post-op score was changed to a 4+3. Subsequent PSA was non-detectable as tested every three months. Five years after surgery I felt confident…

Pelvic MRI with contrast... 2nd opinions
Are there any Radiologists in Colorado, USA that will read my MRI from Nov 2021 and compare it to my 2017 MRI? I believe this is called getting a second opinion. Imaging company#1 said no, because their radiologists do not want to "Step on anyone's toes" Company number 2 said they just cannot do that sort of thing... I…

Systemic Treatment – my experience and update
Though the title of the thread doesn’t instigate reading for many of the attendants, the term systemic surely will strike the curiosity of some as it did to me back in 2001 when I was diagnosed with recurrence after prostatectomy. It has just passed seven months since RP and I was again hearing about cancer. I felt…

PSA virtually undetectable for years. Should it metastasize to the bone would the first indication be an appearance of PSA or Dx by some other means? Thanks.

Prostrate Treatment effects
I had a Brachy Therapy in 2006 performed by a team at the Sunninghill Hospital in Sandton Johannesburg. In 2006. In 2020 my prostate specific antigen reading was 18.1. My GP found this on a routine examination. Sending straight to my Urologist. He said it was necessary to have an Eligard 45 injection to stop and cells…

SBRT 18 mo. ago and cancer is back
Greetings. I just joined the forum to help with my research to find the best therapy. I'm 73 and ~ 20 mo. ago had a rising PSA to about 9 with biopsy showing low risk (3+3) and high volume (5 of 6 cores positive, one at 80%.). So I elected for SBRT, Cyberknife and now 18 mo later my PSA went from 0.6 to 1.5. A subsequent…

#7
I went in for my annual PSA check and meeting with my urological surgeon's P.A. today. My seventh 'undetectable,' which means no residual PCa that current technology can detect. I give thanks. For the many newbies here, I was diagnosed Stage 2 in 2014, had DaVinci proctectomy in early 2015. Good luck to all, and know that…

neuro-endocrine tumors
People tend to write you off as if you are dead. They alo want to take possesion of your body as if you caused the cancer because you were stupid. I don't understand this new idea that people cause their illness. We were there and our bodies responded in a negative way. With this tumor, I hope to live more years than I…

Recovery time for trans perineal biopsy..
Hello guys.. I’m new to this site and after a couple PSA tests (including a 4K PSA) and a MRI, my urologist set me up for the subject procedure… I assume many of you have been thru this procedure and am curious how soon you get back to “normal”.. I ride my bike pretty much everyday as long as the weather permits… Despite…

AUS800
Has anyone out there had their AUS800 "migrate" out of position after surgery? My surgeon had me return after 6 weeks to activate and he couldn't find it where it should be? Said I would have to undergo manual positioning to try to move it by the himself. After 15 minutes I said to stop because of the escalating pain…

Possible UTI after prostatectomy + increased bloody leaks
So I had a prostatectomy around April 10. Catheter out a week later. I was doing OK - managing incontinence fairly well. Things seemed hopeful. At the start of the third week I started to see an increased amount of blood in urine. Started leaking more and always there would be real blood. Doctor had a urine sample done.…

Post RP PSA
Got first PSA results since RP. < 0.1 So, good news and overall happy with outcome of surgery. Continent, no pads necessary (unless I drink too much). Was able to have sex 12 days after surgery. Use Vitamin V to help out there. Don't think I lost much length. Can't really tell so would say < an inch.

Treatment Question
Hello all, I’m on here today seeking information for my dad. He isn’t all that open with info so I may have some missing parts. Back in January he had an elevated PSA score that triggered a biopsy (not sure what the number was, he never said). Anyways, the biopsy led to a gleason score of 3+4=7 (I understand this to mean…

Magnetic particules
Hi there, The spelling error is deliberate, one of my old chemistry professors used to say particules instead of particles, so it is in memory of him. This may not be of a lot of use to us that have been treated but maybe one day there may be better ways to treat prostate cancer than the old standbys.…
