Anyone have problems with bruising after infusion at port site?
Yesterday was my third A/C infusion. Same nurse I had before (very good). This time, I bled more than usual at the site upon removal of cath. I have a round bruise covering the "nob" as I call it. Anyone have this problem? Should I be concerned? I'm having my Neulasta tomorrow and will have someone look at it. I'm just…

ASPIRIN in the news today!
Just watching the news (I think NBC) and they told about a study involving 4,000 nurses who had been diagnosed with Breast cancer and the ones who had been taking aspirin on a regular basis had a 50% higher rate of survival. NICE! I see my onc tomorrow, so I plan on asking her about it.

thank-you gift ideas for a dear friend being right there for me.
I have a very dear friend who went with me to the hospital when I had my surgery in Jan. Met the surgeons and exchanged contact info, waited around until she was sure the mastectomy went well, then came back after 8 hrs to make sure she was there for me when I came out of surgery and said with me until she was sure I was…

Petscan question
What does hotspots mean? I was told I have no hotspots on my petscan and my doctors were amazed, but my ultrasound showed otherwise. I saw my ultrasound films and saw the dark spots. I had the films to take to MRI place. I had an MRI done today, don't know about that one yet. Which test shows the most accurate results? I…

Surgery 2/16/10
I received a card yesterday that I would like to share, "The Oak Tree" A mighty wind blew night and day. It stole the oak tree's leaves away. Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark Until the oak was tired and stark. But still the oak tree held its ground While other trees fell all around. The weary wind gave up and…

I had my third out of 6 chemo treatments yesterday! Half way there !!!!!!!!!!. I have an appointment with my surgeon to discuss re-excision due to clear but close margins. What is your dosage for restoril/temazepam? AND Femara questions
The insomnia I have due to taking Femara is AWFUL! Even Ambien doesn't help! I got a prescription for restoril, but it is the lowest dosage---7.5mg. Given how almost impossible it is to fall asleep with ambien, I am wondering if restoril will be a good alternative. Has anyone else had success with 7.5 mg? (I know I can ask…

Femara/Letrozole
Have I figured it out right? Femara is the brand name and Letrozole is the generic? Saw Dr. T. on Thurs and he gave me a script for Femara which I turned in that afternoon to VA. I picked up the first 10 days of the script yesterday at Ft. Meade (rest will be mailed) and it doesn't say 'Femara' on it but rather says…

After Mastectomy Surgery?

Or are there wedge pillows I can use, or other options? I'm having a right side only mastectomy hopefully next week. I still don't have a date set yet but I…
