Making Strides Against...boob jobs?
Some of you will remember my first experience at an ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K walk 2 years ago, when I was just a few months out of treatment. None of my friends would go with me, so I went alone, and found it very cliqueish and unfriendly and discouraging. This year, a Making Strides was scheduled for…

OT--teenagers
As the parent of a teenage boy (he turns 16 next week) I am experiencing some frustration here, there, and everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I am very proud of my son. He is bright, healthy, has a wicked sense of humor, is usually responsible, and is very creative. Yes, I am blessed. But lately the 'I know everything' and…

who on this board has mets??
I have been busy with work and have not been able to keep up with the postings. It seems almost everyday someone else discovers they have mets. I would like to hold a weekly (or possibly a daily) vigil for our dear sisters who are dealing with treatment and in particular those with mets. hugs Mariam

My doctor just says this is part of the healing process but I don't know. It hurts worse each week and it hurts worse at the end of the work week than it…

Have had the chemo, surgery, and currently in radiation. Next step is long term use of an aromatase inhibitor. Haven't had much discussion with my onc. about this only because other stuff has always had priority. Doing some research now and find there are several different aromatase inhibitors available but not finding a…

Going crazy! 1 week from bilateral mastectomy. How do you decide about reconstruction?
I feel like a yoyo. I am up one minute about having reconstruction and off of it the next minute. If one person tells me I should do it, I feel like I should and I will be sorry if I do not. If another tells me I am crazy messing around with all that extra surgery and procedures that come with reconstruction, I think I am…

So tired of bad news..
Hi ladies! Just asking for lots of prayers. I woke up this morning unable to see. I can see things that are far away, but I can't read anything close up or even tell the time on my watch. We are flying home from our vacation a week and a half early so that I can get a brain MRI. My pupils are different sizes, but besides…

lung lesion
Hi all, About a month ago or maybe a little longer, I had a chest MRI done due to some ongoing post port pain. Long story short, the radiologist read the wrong side ( the BC side)! Had the PET scan yesterday, now I look like a Heroin addict!
I found out my radiation oncologist does PETs at his office, so I scheduled this one there to avoid all the bs you have to go through when you get it at the hospital. Well, I think Rad. Doc.'s techs need to go for a refresher course in administering IVs. The first girl came in, very sweet, young and perky. I put out my…

I met Carol (Camul) today!!
She is delightful: smart, funny, lovely, kind, and, yes, a tad sarcastic (that's my favorite part:) We met in Carlsbad on a beautiful sunny day and had late lunch/early dinner and we talked and talked. My new avatar is a picture of the beautiful flowers she gave me. Thank you, Carol, for a wonderful afternoon. xoxo,…
