NED is Cheating on me
After taking my second pill of ativan and still awake i need to share I know you hate to read as much as I hate to write about NED who left me after 4 years of pretty serious relationships. I had my PET on Monday, the date he left without notice and we have learnt about his behavior today. both my oncologist and my very…

Now for the photos
I posted a couple of photos on my expressions page http://csn.cancer.org/user/111056/view/expressions I think that might work. Of all the photos my daughter took, which were many, we either had goofy expressions on our faces, or they were out of focus, or our eyes were closed ...... so this is the best I could do without…

Totally off topic but normal news
Since NED has decided to desert a bunch of us, and the world is a bit gloomy, I thought that I would post about my weekend. I live in Colorado and flew to NY state to be a bridesmaid. I am 59 years old and actually there were 2 of us that are 59! One bride wore white and the other bride work her air force uniform. Yep you…

OMG
My mind is so pre-occupied with getting that stupid PET scan today that I forgot to call my Dad on Father's Day. I would like to call him today but I'm afraid I would start crying so I just emailed him an apology. For some reason a song has been replaying over and over again in my head and it's not even a song I usually…

Please remember - we are each UNIQUE!
I have recently noticed that there are many new here. It seems that often there are a lot of statements "This will happen" because that's what I did/what I experienced. We are each so unique - we can only give our experiences - not that whatever we have experienced will happen/not happen to anyone else. Winyan - The Power…

Taking A Count: (of pain)
Do you have pain in your hip, wrist, or arm? Which side? Do you have pain elsewhere? Did you have chemo or rads, or both or none? Does medication take away your pain? --- I have a lot of pain deep in my right hip and some pain in my right wrist, but only when I twist it like when removing a bottlecap. I had a masectomy on…

LAST CHEMO
So, this morning was my last chemo treatment. No fan fair from my husband or my girls... nada. I headed to the hospital for my blood draw and chemo. Only to find out my ANC dumped from 1.5 down to .9. Quite a shock since my counts had been climbing up each chemo. I asked if it was the Effexor that may have tanked it, since…

mets to lymph nodes?
Looking to see if anyone has any thoughts or experience with this? My original nodes were clear (3) with my lumpectomy ! But I recently had my first pet scan! The report shows 2 swollen lymph nodes! One in neck and other in pelvis! Now waiting on doctors to decide what type of biopsy should be done! My least favorite word…

Little bump in the road, I guess?
I had a CT scan in March which showed a 7mm nodule in my right lung so the CT scan was repeated this past Monday. I got the results today and the nodule has increased to 13mm. I will get a PET scan and biopsy sometime between now and my next onc appt. in two weeks. So far I am remarkably calm and, well, maybe it will turn…

3rd chemo on Friday...this is getting harder to do!
I thought I would get through this just like the 1st chemo. As the next date approaches I am getting more and more depressed and irritated. Just don't want to lay down and let the stinkin' truck roll over me again! So tired all of the time, and friends and family want me to participate in visits I just can't do it! People…

I'm sorry that I have to disapoint all you ladies about my trip to Chicago. The only exciting things I got to do was to roll June's mother(in a wheel chire)in and out of the house for 4 1/2 weeks. I am finally back from Chicago and able to get onto the Cancer Survivors Network! I am truely sorry that I could not get in touch with any "Pinks" in that area over the last month, but being without a computer was really tough and we left in such a hurry that I didn't have time to make any plans. Lymph node
Hi Everyone, I am posting this message on behalf of my wife as I love her a lot and am a bit concerned. It has been 2 months or so that my wife has been dealing with some sort of swelling under her left armpit...I found out about it just 3 weeks ago. Athough so far it seems just like a swelling and a bit tender to the…

Lymphedema garments - Day - Night - What do you have?
Just wondering - for those who deal with lymphedema - how many have both day and night garments? There is a big difference between them and how they work. I have day sleeves and gloves and a night sleeve with over sleeve. Susan

Hair biopsy results in
And there is still no definitive answer. I do have some hair follicles - we knew that. Afterall, I do have some hair. What they saw under the microscope are some follicles in the telogen (resting) phase as well as in the anagen (growing) phase. Just not very many of them. The dermatologist said my biopsy results are…

Hodgkins first now Breast Cancer
Hi All - I'm new at this site but glad I found it! I had HL 30 years ago (at 35) and just diagnosed with breast cancer. Due to the "mega dose radiation" rec'd then, I am not able to get any more RT. My dr called me and said that my only option would be a bilateral mast. Naturally I'm worried, but fine with what has to be…

Needed--prayers, positive energy and let's get that Pink Bus fired up!
Tomorrow I have my PET scan after 5 months of Faslodex injections and Zometa infusions for newly diagnosed bone mets. I'm not gonna lie--I've got the jitters. Good scenario--stable. Great scenario--diminished bone mets. This treatment is very tolerable and my med. onc. said that if it works, I would be able to be on it for…
