I was told by an aquatiance who only had best intentions in mind that now that I have had cancer I am considered "Broken". Lets start by saying that I am a single mom of a great 14 yr old son. I was told that because I was not dateing anyone before I got cancer that I should forget about it ever happening. no one wants to…

Fasting and Cancer.. check it out
I have gotten a few questions about a link I posted that covered research showing fasting 24 hrs prior to and after chemo with platinum-based chemos (i.e. Cisplatin, etc.) has some positive effects. Here is another link to an interesting take on fasting and cancer... turns out, this is a two-part series on YouTube that I…

Urination Trick
The best way for me is standing up,but it makes a mess. What I've found is if I hold a wad of toilet paper close and pee into it, it saturates and drains straight down into the toilet. Simple and effective and then I'm good for another 5 minutes!

Radiation and fibromyalgia
I am a 47 year old breast cancer survivor. I am in my 6th year of remission. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in my 20’s and dealt with it pretty well for the most part. About halfway through my 6.5 weeks of radiation I started to experience severe, widespread pain. Much like the fibro pain, but kicked up about 1000%. In…

Chemo "routine"?
I had a lumpectomy last week and cancer was found in a lymph node. I assume I'll need chemotherapy now - I was really hoping to get away with a lumpectomy and radiation alone. Well, what do I do now, but sit around and think about chemo? My question is: what did your chemo "routine" look like? If you worked, did you need…

Post surgery concern
I am 8 weeks post surgery (open partial nephrectomy) and I am still having what I describe as feeling like a 2x4 is jammed into my side. This feeling began immediately after the surgery and is getting better, but I have never heard of anyone else complaining about this particular issue. Has anyone had this problem after…

Not the tamoxifen...
A few days ago, I wrote about a problem I was having which I attributed to Tamoxifen. I was WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. Went to my new family doctor. After explaining my painful experiences with muscle cramping on AI's and Tamoxifen, she said she doesn't believe it's the tamoxifen. She took a closer look at my other meds…

6-Month Post Scan and 1 Year Anniversary Update
Almost a year ago I felt something odd on the side of my neck and went to the doctor. That eventually resulted in a diagnosis of stage 3 base of tongue SCC with a fairly large tumor. Through much research on this forum and other sights I proceeded with no neck dissections, no tumor surgery, no pain meds, no feeding tube…

Hi all. You can read my story in my profile - I don't wanna rehash the whole thing but basically have had three cancers and am currently over 2 years cancer free (yay!). However, I am in a very stagnant position. I can't seem to start anything. I don't see the value in many things. I lost my singing voice with this last…

Healios question- amount of water
Hello, I just received an order of healios and it says to take 1 scoop of it with 25ml to 100ml of water. To those that drink Healios, how much water do you use? The bottle has 25ml, 50, 75, 100 and even 125. Will 25ml of water benefit me more with 1 scoop than if I diluted it with 100ml? I am probably overthinking it as I…
