New to breast cancer
I am starting treatment for my stage 1 breast cancer next week and am having a hard time accepting that I will be losing my hair. I know the most important thing is my health, but it's still hard to accept. I am also having a lot of nervousness about the side effects. Also worried about how I will keep up with work even…

cold therapy gloves and socks
I was told by my oncology doctor today that my chemo may cause neuropathy. She said they say to use ice before during and after treatment (15 mins. each time). I was looking into this and see Amazon sells them. Can anyone tell me if they have used them and if it seems to work? Thank you!

Breast Cancer Treatment
I just found this chat room and am enjoying the comments as I am about halfway through my breast cancer treatment. I started chemo last November. I am 8 days post bilateral mastectomy due to inflammatory BC in my left breast and ductal carcinoma in my right breast (I hit the jackpot). After recovery, I had to undergo 30…

Anyone Having Trismus Or TMJ (Temporo Mandibular Joint) Issues Or Problems Here Are Some Ideas
Keep it simple-Stick with the sticks, one stick at a time, and skip the Therabite. I guess they work, the concept is good but they are made of plastic, and considering how long they have been making them would think the price would have come down by now because most people's insurance doesn't cover them, and at the crazy…

High Gleason/low PSA
hi, I just had a biopsy. All 12 samples have an “aggressive” cancer cell sampling. My Gleason score is 9, but my PSA is only 4.4. When I search for information on low PSA and high Gleason I’m reading that this combination has a much higher mortality rate. Does anyone on here have a similar profile? I’m sorta lost…thanks Jim

Yervoy as a preventative? Killing her instead.
My sister was diagnosed for the second time in a few years with Melanoma. They again removed the melanoma from her leg, but her Oncologist suggested she complete 4 treatements every three weeks of Yervoy as a prevantitive. She completed two treatments and has been hospitalized every since. She has had 5 surgeries in 9…

Medication for Metatsatic RAI resistance DTC
I had a TT with neck dissection in June 2023 and RAI last September. My lung nodules did not take up the RAI. My cancer was DNA tested, and they know it's an RAI-resistant strain that is aggressive. My 6-month check found my lung nodules have grown ~2-3mm (the largest is now 15 mm). I am scheduled to now see another…

Conservative treatment question
I recently underwent surgery to remove one lobe and the isthmus of my thyroid because they were obstructive. Despite benign results from FNA and DNA, path reports came back with two types of cancer in the removed lobe: papillary (very small), and follicular (3.7 mass). My surgeon is going to treat by leaving other lobe in,…

Why are people compelled to write about their religious beliefs in the specific cancer forums?
This has been an issue for the 5+ years I have been a member of this site. It's been going on long before that and I am not the only person who finds this to be an issue worth discussing. While there are not very many people who speak out publicly (I have colon cancer and usually post there - or here) when I do make a…

Skin cancer support
Today I had my 13th surgery to remove a basal cell and have had melanomas in the past cancer road of 20 years (I am 39). I have finally put my finger to why I have been mentally struggling, and I believe it is the lack of support of people…

How to battle late effects
Hello, I’m new. It’s been validating to know I’m not alone even if the posts are old. Sadly I can relate to so many of them. I’m a survivor of leukemia over 5 years dealing with a ton of late effects of treatment. I’ve gone through chemo, radiation, and a BMT. And I vaguely remember a 3 page list, front and back, of oral…

Positive Margins
Two days after wide local excision to remove vin iii lesions, someone from my doctor's office called to tell me the patholgy report says margins are not clear.
