Hi... I found out this week that my cancer has returned. My initial diagnosis was 8 years ago this month ( kinda creepy). Getting ready to start chemo again, Oh Boy!!

So sorry to hear this. Did it come back to the same breast and is it the same subtype of cancer? Are they giving you the same chemo or trying something new? Best of luck.

Thanks for the wishes. It is the same breast and same type…inflammatory BC. Looks like we'll be trying some newbl drugs. Been told it may be harder to get under control the second time. Guess I'll find out.

Im so sorry it returned. Mine just now returned after 12 years. I had metastatic BC in the Sacrum and pelvis, had radiation and was stable for 12 years, then it came back adjacent to the that same spot in pelvis. Not sure what to expect now. I have a biopsy in a few days. Then radiation again i guess. Not sure if they will change me off herceptin. Good luck and hugs to you!

    Hi,

My breast cancer returned after 6 years. In 2018, I had er +, pr+, her2- cancer removed via lumpectomy and radiation. In July 2024, her2+ er and pr- cancer found in the same breast. September 9th, had double mastectomy and will need chemo.

Now there are more scans needed based upon findings from PET scan. Seems like it will never end.
