Dear Carlene, thank you for sharing that information about the FDA approve immunovaccine's application for a Phase I/II clinical trial for an ovarian cancer vaccine. Concerned about a friend...
A lady I attend church with is having a biopsy on her voice box tomorrow. She has been hoarse for quite some time. They have already told her it doesn't look good. The reason I'm scared for her is because she also looks about 7 months pregnant. I think she's probably in her mid to late 50's would be my guess. I asked her…

Thank you so much, ladies!
Thanks so much for all your wonderful replies. I appreciate deeply every point of view that has been presented. All your replies have made me feel much better. As I said in another posting, I see my friend in a new light now and I feel that my regard for her has lessened. I have certainly learned a lesson from all this.…

"You want pluck?" Part II
Carlene, remember when your pedicurist suggested a pluck for your toes? I have a Part II for you. I've lost my hair and most of my eyebrows due to radiation. I wear a scarf and I've gone back to drawing on my eyebrows. Apparently I did too good of a job, because when I went to the salon, my pedicurist looked at me and…

First Treatment-was quite an experience
Well, my first treatment is over. For the most part it was just as many of you ladies described to me. The Benadryl didn't really affect me very much. So after the nurse talked to me about Chemo, filling my brain with all the information I needed to know, we got the Taxol started. She checked on me at the 10 minute mark.…

Post Chemo Fatigue
Yes I know it takes a year to feel like yourself again. :) But I'm still wondering if the fatigue I am feeling is chemo related. It's been 5 months and it hasn't improved. I expected to get tired more easily and not have the same stamina. But I wake up tired, go to bed tired and never get any relief. My eyes want to close…

I'm hungry...again... any suggestions?
I lost around 45 lbs. before/after surgery. For the first time in my life I had a dr. refer to me as thin. My oncologist told me before I began chemo to not lose any more weight. Never did I think I would have a dr. say those words to me. I've always heard, "lose weight." :) I know while taking chemo is not the time to…

A posting question
Whenever I have posted here, I do a rough outline first and copy and paste. When it comes on the screen, it is a trimmed down version so I cannot say all I want to say. I notice that many of your posts are long - how do you manage to get everything into the posting so that the board accepts it? Ann

Crazy high cost of Doxil & Nuelasta !!
My hospital billed my insurance company $30,800 for a single round of Doxil; and $17,000 for the Nuelasta shot I got the next day. My insurance negotiated that down and paid $24,000 for that single Doxil infusion, and $14,000 for the Nuelasta shot. So, even with the negotiated discount, my insurance is paying my oncology…

You want plucked?
My forty-ish middle son and I look amazingly alike these days. We both have very short, thin, salt-and-pepper hair. And since he is overdue for a haircut, and the back of his hair reaches almost to his collar, the style is very similar, too. Mine, of course, has more gray. I think about my hair at least once a day. What I…
