I've already gone through menopause, so dealt for years with hot flashes, but nothing like this! Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there something I can do about it without taking any hormones?? Pretty…

My first chemo
I think I could have driven myself but I was more relaxed I guess, and enjoy talking with driver/friend. It went without a problem. I'm pleasantly surprised. Maybe the problems are yet to come, hopefully NOT! The nurses and staff are wonderful in the small city I go to. Since it was first time, I was there 4 and 1/2 hours.…

Well ladies I am back up and running as far as the computer is concerned but I think I have to do some updating of my home(router or modem) equipment because I have no internet at home. I can surf elsewhere. I have missed you all for the past 10 days. I justified the purchase of the computer with the idea that I could pick…

I will have my #7 Taxol treatment tomorrow. Then to #8 - last one! Amen to that! I sometimes wish you guys lived closer to me. I would…

We have things to celebrate (including each other). We have Linda's great news and return to work, Deborah's daughter got married and she survived, and I have a new "real" (sort of) job. I'm sure there's more amongst us who have something to add to the celebration, or will celebrate for any excuse. We'll meet at BJ's in…

Hi again~ Been 24 days since my last boost treatment and I am still feeling like crap. Is it normal to be so tired all the time? I can't seem to get moving in the morning and when I finally do I don't want to do much. I am just beat. I find myself laying around and getting annoyed with myself. It seems I start to get…

Asking for good thoughts
I am asking for good thoughts for my neighbor and friend. She is having surgery tomorrow for a tumor on her ovaries. She is 82 and not in the best health. They will not know if it is cancer until it is removed. I will not be able to visit her because she had to go to a hospital 150 miles from here just in case. Hugs,…

So I had a biopsy 2 weeks ago. Dr took a piece of my uterus. She said she did not think it was cancer...but just to be sure... Yup, that's what they said about my breast... Anyway, she said to call in 2 weeks and I could get the results over the phone. So I called - it's been 2 weeks...the Dr isn't in and they don't have…

I don't know when it exactly happened but I am starting to feel the presence of my expanders (fully inflated)especially along the inside of my torso. Most of my…

Silly to be excited but......
I actually went to the optometrist yesterday evening and got the ok to be fitted for contacts again!!! She didn't find any lasting chemo effects and said I had enough lashes and tears to wear them. Finally did it!!
I posted a few weeks ago trying to gather information about post chemo hair and what to expect if I cut it. Well, I finally did it, cut off all my chemo curls and the funky white tips. It is now more of a pixie cut. I like it. It is super short again but now I don't have a mass of curls to deal with. I feel I can relate to…

Along my incision line just under my left breast I am super red. Over the weekend and for the past couple of treatments I've been applying the Biafine salve they prescribed to me this past Thursday. Third Mammogram and possible calcifications
A year ago it was suggested by my nurse practitioner that due to family history (grandmother and her two sisters had bc) I get a mammo. I did and results found abnormal spots but likely benign. I was to return for a follow up. I couldn't due to the fact that I was pregnant at the time (I'm now 37) and then breastfeeding,…
