Heard on TV this AM that Avastin is being pulled as a treatment fr BC. It is going to conmtinue to be available for other types of cancer but not BC. The short little thig that was on didn't say why just that it was.
Anyone hear anything about this?

Toxicities outweigh the benefits
I read in The Wall Street Journal that the 5 month tumor suppressor that it was suppose to provide ended up being 2, at best. They are saying that the side effects of hemorrhaging and stomach perforations are too high...
Several advocates are fighting to keep it. It seems like, for now, Genetech is trying to do another study while they keep BC on the label....0 -
I also heard
I also heard that it did not extend time without a recurrence that they'd anticipated that it would. I did a clinical trial during chemo that included Avastin but stopped when I finished chemo cause I just couldn't put my family thru the additional treatments.
