Rising PSA - Radiation Therapy
Hi 54 years old. Had my prostate removed 20 months ago, showing negative margins from all lymph samples. PSA has been slowly rising for the 20 post op months starting at <.1 and now last week with it at .19 My urologist/suregeon has referred me to a radiologist for further treatment. I thought I was in the clear, but now…

You guys seem like a very knowledgeable crew! (Note: this is a rewrite of a post I submitted earlier today. It seems to have disappeared when I went in…

Risk of biopsy spreading cancer outside the prostate?
Hi everyone, My husband is planning to get a fusion biopsy soon, but is concerned about the possible side effects. Can anyone share details about how much risk there is of the biopsy spreading any possible cancer beyond the prostate? So far, I've heard about a study from 2015 (from BJU International) saying that needle…

Prostate cancer and pacemaker
I recently had a biopsy due to PSA going to 6. I'm 73 years old in excellent health except for a 3 year old pacemaker and controlled High Blood Pressure. My biopsy showed 2 spots of cancer contained in the right side near edge. Gleeson score 3 + 3. One urologist is totally against any treatment what so ever and wants me to…

Lutetium-177-PSMA-617
Apparently, the Phase 3 trial for lutetium-177-PSMA-617 had positive results. https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/a-new-treatment-for-advanced-prostate-cancer-improves-survival-in-phase-3-clinical-trial-202107122543 From what I gather, lutetium is now a treatment for PCa as well as a contrast agent for use in its detection.

High PSA of 35 I would like an opinion
I'm 51 with no family prostate history. I recently started to feel sick one night. Then I started to feel the need to urgently pee but when I did I almost had to force it out. It was quite painful too. So I went to my GP who did a urine test that showed no UTI. So I got a blood test and my PSA was 35. My two previous PSA's…

PSA Rise
Hey! I'm new here. I'm 61 years old and last year my PSA was 2.3 and one year later it jumped to 4.1. My Uroligist is not worried at all. He said wait 2-3 months and recheck it and if it goes up more we will worry but most likely it will come down. He said the fact that it is only 4.1 and it has only beeen one year means…

Recent diagnosis questions
Hi everyone, My story's probably pretty common: last year I go in for an annual checkup, primary care doc ran blood tests, and WHAM! elevated PSA (7.9). He referred me to a urologist who did the DRE (nothing) and then had me do an MRI and a "liquid biopsy" (came back negative; still don't know what that was supposed to…

Biopsy Results
Just got results from my second biopsy. 6 of 12 cores showed 3+3 Gleason. One of the cores was 100% and another 70% in right posterior. My question is, what is the significance of the involvement. The rest of the cores that were positive were in the 30% or less. Realize this is a question for my doctor just, don't have the…
