Flushed face
I took my 3rd treatment 3 weeks ago today. Since late this morning my face has been flushed. My B.P. is normal. I have no fever. What could cause this? I typically am red faced a couple of days following treatment, but three weeks? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Carla

I'm a little discouraged
Hi everyone, I guess I'm just getting a little discouraged and a little nervous because my CT scan is next week. I've been on so many different chemos since the fall of last year including Avastin and the tumors have grown a little. I guess I would have liked to hear, they shrunk. I guess I'm getting used to the…

Am I becoming a hypochondriac???
I finished chemo a year ago and everything seemed to be doing well for several months. But then this summer I started really struggling with not feeling well. My ca-125 has been creeping up and the last they checked in July it was 197. They did a ct scan in June but it did not detect any signs of masses at that point.…

Taxotere and Carbo it is!
I've been wondering what my chemo regime will be for my 2nd recurrence and the winner is- Taxotere and Carbo. He also said I could do Taxotere and Cisplatin, but the Cisplatin seems to be harsher. Will start treatment next week and every 3-4 weeks there after. Doc feels this will put me in remission as it has worked twice…

My first delay in treatment :(
I was scheduled for treatment number 5 today. However, my platelets were at 59, so it will be delayed until next week. A chemo nurse said that they should be back up next week. My white and blood counts were fine. I wonder how many women do get through all 6 of these treatments without any delays? Hope all of you are…

A question for ladies in remission
Once I finished treatment my oncologist told me I would see her every six months and my surgeon once a year. I have the CA125 every three months. During treatment I felt so cared for. I could call anytime for any reason. Once I finished treatment I am back in the hands of my primary. I emailed my oncologist in March about…

Cat scan

They are not even sure if it is cancer so they are just going to keep an eye on it. I am amazed at fast things are going after only two chemo treatments my numbers droped from 2000 to…

Radiation cough
I just finished radiation 2 days ago and I have had a dry cough since starting treatment last week. Just wondering if it might be related. The radiation was aimed above and below my clavicle. Of course, all I can think about are lung mets. This darn disease makes me feel like a hypochondriac and I hate having to focus on…

Time period between detection and biopsy
I had an MRI hips which showed a tumor on my left ovary. I was given the info by phone by the receptionist and faxed a few doctors to see and an order for a pelvic us. The first gyne/oncologist I saw immediately decided I needed robotic surgery. I am seventy. We planned it in two weeks. In the meantime I began wondering…

still waiting for chemo essay results
or is it assay? I can never keep all my terminology right. I had surgery on the 31st, and it went way better than I ever dreamed. I breezed through, was out of the hospital in 8 days and hardly have any pain 15 days out. My mom and I flew back to Seattle today, when we found out the chemo assay is not due out until next…

OMG....I have completely lost my mind and "killed" off Libby P
I am sooooooooo sorry for upsetting all you ladies. I thought Kelly was Libby's daughter, and I knew that Kelly's mom died in August. Then I got an email from Lisa (13Q) and she mentioned "Libby passed" as well - obviously not "our" Libby. I will fix the video ASAP. I am sooooo sorry for the misunderstanding and apologize…

alternative therapies; esp for Tethys41
As indicated before, I am very interested in doing some of things you (Tethys41) are doing/have done re: naturopathic alternatives and Mexico. My plan of action is to find a local naturopathic doctor to help boost my whole body health, then perhaps go to Mexico to see what they have to offer. I just finished chemo and…

Biopsy 3 weeks ago and still don't have a chemo plan
I had a biopsy 3 weeks ago that confirmed recurrent disease and as of today, still no chemo plan. My doctor won't be having a tumor board meeting until next wednesday and probably treatment won't begin until the following week, at a minimum. So that will be 5 weeks after the discovery of the recurrence. Seems like a long…

Real Hope....But
Today's Science section in the NY Times has a story about the most hopeful treatment I've read yet. Titled "An Immune System Trained to Kill Cancer," it tells of an experiment with just 3 participants, all near death from advanced chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and two of whom are now in total remission for a year. The…

The other shoe may have dropped--or not
I've been sitting around with "inactive cancer" for several months now since I went on a chemo break in the spring of this year. I've also been following the "anti-cancer" program as outlined by Dr. Servan-Schreiber and hoping I could keep the malignant cells dormant as long as possible. Had my CA-125 checked earlier this…

Short Remission Part 2
It seems there is alot of discussion about recurrences. I am amazed and inspired by how strong all the women on this board are. I was only in remission for 2 months.
