Any word from Kathleen or her family yet?

Chemo disposal
Ok, I posted the topic about the stink we exude with chemo....so that means chemo is exiting our bodies. I am getting cisplatin and etoposide for my chemo. When the nurses put the drip up they put on the little blue gowns to protect thier regular clothes from any spillage. At on of my chemos, not during mine just while I…

LINDA & KATHLEEN
I'M SO HAPPY TO HEAR BOTH OF YOU ARE DOING WELL! This makes my day! I know it's quite a recovery process, but you both sound so positive and upbeat. God bless you both as you continue to heal and get back to reasonable 'normalcy'. Sending lots of love, hugs and prayers to you both! Monika

I'm Back
The second chemo treatment hit harder than the first so I've been feeling really tired and not sleeping more than 2 to 3 hours a night. I had the 3rd and final chemo today. I feel guilty about celebrating when some are going through so many more treatments, but I'm glad it's over and now things are down hill from here (I…

Chemo stink
Ok, I have just finished this round of chemo. I reek of it. My clothes smell. When I go to the bathroom it smells. The bed sheets smells. I thought it was just me but my mother who is taking care of me can smell it too. It has me besides myself. It makes the nausea worse and I just do not know what to do about it. I am…

Eyes that water during chemo
Hi everyone, I thought I'd share this with you. I've been on Taxotere for 3 full cycles now. I go once a week, 3 weeks in a row, and get a week off for rest. I noticed that after my last chemo visit, my eyes started watering alot. I didn't know what it was from, and forgot to ask my primary care doctor when I saw him this…

Thank you Linda Propocio
Thank you Linda for your reply. I was feeling kind of down after today's visit, but I felt better after reading your note. I'm going to see my gyn/onc next week and see what he says. I've also been on so many chemos for the last year and I told my oncologist today that I really feel like I need a chemo break. I think I'm…

Number of rounds of carbo/taxol
Hi ladies. My mother has completed 8 rounds of carbo/taxol. 3 pre-surgery and 5 post-surgery. Her CA125 was very high pre and post surgery. 40,000 pre-surgery down to 977 post-surgery then back up to 3,000 when she restarted chemo. The carbo/taxol has been decreasing the number. It's now down to 172. It still seems to be…

Translation help
Got my scan few dys ago, my doctor says it looks ok, still small portion of a tumor, but wonder what means extremely subtie stippled peritoneal disease adjacentto the spenic flexure of the colon. If anyone translate this for me please.

Pep talk for all
Just wanted to say my sister who had ovarian cancer as of right now has beaten the odds. I can't remember when she was first diagnosed due to my fibro fog, but it was stage 3. She received chemo and then went to a doctor in Atlanta and received heated chemo. Thus far, this has worked for her; as of now there is no evidence…

naturopathy
Has anyone had any experience with adding elements of naturopathy their chemo program? Has it mitigated the side effects of chemo at all?

It's GO GO time!
Well, I arrived safely in CA on Sunday, did the pre-op check in today, saw the gyn/onc (Dr. Miracle Worker) got my meds for when I discharge, and most importantly the GO GO Lightly! My sweet SIL is here with me and we have been having a great time chatting for 2 days as we are running around from pillar to post. Tonigt I…

Doing All I Can to Put the Word Out About Ovarian Cancer Through Videos Now!
It's been a while since I've been on the boards and now that I'm back it's still shocking to see so many new names/faces dealing with ovarian cancers. For those who do not know me, I decided to take a break from the board at a time when we seemed to be losing so many sisters in this fight. It was overwhelming and I felt so…

Hello everybody, I'm new in the board, I have been reading so many of the post and ever since I feel a lot better, I do not feel alone in this matter, I'm a very blessed person, because I have so much love ones around me who are giving me courage all the time, but they do not know all you know, so now I feel complete ... Help! Body Aches!
Hello...I just registered and am so glad to have found this place. I was diagnosed with ovca in May when I went to the emergency room thinking I had a bad appendix. I have since had a debulking surgery and just finished my 3rd round of chemo (carbo/tax). The first two days after chemo are so so, but by the 3rd day, I am…

Do any of you have a medical oncologist rather than a gyn/oncologist?
I read the other night that studies show women live longer with ovca when they have a gyn/oncologist. That is not an option for me, as I would have to drive 150 miles one way to have access to one. I live near Memphis, TN, but there are no drs. in my insurance network. I did go that far for my surgery. I have had 3…

can you feel the gas pedal
when you drive? I haven't driven in quite a while and I am kind of nervous now as I still have some neoupathy and sometimes I almost trip down or up a few steps. I feel like such a klutz. I am going to a wedding soon and I want to wear a nice strappy shoe with a heel but I don't know...but I think I shall..the worst I can…

Insurance drama
On Wednesday I finally went in and quit my job it was hard to do but I knew I could not work while I was fighting this battle. I worked for five years as a house manager for adults with mental handdicapps. I loved my job and the four ladies that I took care of. Before quiting I applied online for our state health insurance…

Well....I think I might live
This last 10 days has been the least fun I've had in a long time. I am way down on pain meds now, though and getting around better. The first two nights home, I had to sleep in the recliner because I have one of those beds that's about 4 ft off the floor, and I'm only 5 ft and have to use a little set of steps to climb in…

Short Remission
I guess I just need a little pep talk. In June I had a clean scan and the dr. said I was in remission. Since then my CA125 kept going up so I had a scan last Friday. The scan showed some small growths in my abdomen and there are 2 enlarged lymph nodes. The gyn/onc wants to do a needle biopsy on one of the lymph nodes. My…

Pet/Scan ...Not so good
Well I got the results from my PET/Scan that I had done on Friday. The one tumor has grown from 6cm to 9 cm (on my liver) and there other spots that appeared on my upper left chest area. I had been on Avastin alone and previous Pet/Scan had showed it was working. So now I had to choose a different cocktail. Choices were…
