Question about BRACA2 positive
If a woman in her 30's tests positive. She has the hysterectomy. Will that keep her from getting the cancer? How do we know that the cells won't go to another organ if the ovaries are not there? Sorry, I know this is probably another silly question. However, this is just so new to us. Thank you again for your help. God…

Constipation and fluid
My MIL started her chemo this last Thursday. (this is her 3rd relapse) Earlier in the week she had over 2 liters of fluid taken off her abdomen. Yesterday she was weak and very constipated. Is this normal? What can she do to prevent this constipation? Also, is the fluid normal too? Thanks for any words of wisdom. God…

UPSC is a cancer with a similar prognosis, recurrance rate, and treatment regime as Ovarian Cancer, and so we 'UPSC Sisters' pop in and read your posts and sometimes even chime in here. And you've all been so welcoming and generous and lovely. I thought you might like to know that the CSN website has just given us our own…

Mother-in-law diagnosed with ovarian CA
I'm new to the forum and have to say that I'm so impressed with the amount of support and information that is available here. I am a caregiver to someone with Ovarian Cancer
I am my mothers caregiver. She was diagnosed on October 16, 2008 with stage 4 ovarian cancer. We rushed her to the hospital because her stomach looked like there was a beach ball in there and she couldn't breathe well. She is currently going for her 5th round of chemo (taxil and carboplatin). My thing is that I know she is…

33 yo with large papillary serous cystadenoma...what are my odds?
Hi there, I'm 33 and because of 4 months of increasingly heavy periods and spotting, bloating, etc, went into the OBGYN. I was sent for a U/S due to a swollen uterus, which ended up being a normal uterus with a very large ovarian cyst sitting behind it. Measured 12cm on U/S. They said it was mostly fluid filled and felt it…

My CA-125 last week was 51 as compared to the 48 of last month. My oncologist said that a difference of 3 points was within the margin of statistical error and not to worry. For the first time he acknowledged the chemo causes the joint pain and wrote a prescription for naproxin sodium (aleve) for 500 mg taken two times a…

joint pains?
Hello ladies, good to be back again. For those of you who know me, I've been doing pretty good. My last chemo was in July, although the cancer is still there, it's not doing anything, as he puts it "they're just winking at us". I go back Feb. 5th for my third ct check up. Weight gain, oh boy! I don't really recognise…
