Hi Everyone, this has been a very long week. Thought I wasn't getting sick from this time only to run 103.1 fever by Thursday night, then Friday started other colon/rectal problems and continued through Saturday. Oh what a body goes through to survive both the cancer and treatment. :-) Anyway I have managed to keep up with…

CA-125 Up
Hi, I've been so upset, I just got my last reading after my 5th treatment of Doxil and it went from 34 to 45.6. The doctor was suppose to give me a break after I finished my last treatment of Doxil but I wonder. I'm going to have a Ct Scan on March 4th.I feel like I will never see remission. I've been on chemo non stop…

3rd recurrence... Has anyone been treated with only Gemzar?
Hello again... I was diagnosed in May 2006. I had 6 rounds of Paclitaxol, and then a recurrence only a few months after finishing the chemo. My Dr. then put me on IP Chemo (Cisplatin). I was able to handle 5 of those treatments. Well, I was only in remission for about 4 or 5 months when I got that distinctive "bloating"…

Estrogen and wrinkles
Ladies, I did look up past comments and did not find what I am wondering. Most of us on this discussion board have had a hysterectomy (total) I would assume. My question is what do you do about NO estrogen being produced in your body with no ovaries and what about wrinkles on the face, joints not lubricated, etc. etc. Do…

Great News!
My MIL was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2005. She is taking another round of chemo now. (not so great news) However..she had the BRACA 1 & 2 tests. She tested positive in the BRACA2. New scan report
I saw the gyn/onc/surgeon today and we high fived. The scan showed no change, still clear since Oct. The Femara is holding the cancer cells back. The CA125 is stable at 50 and does not concern him. He did not even do a pelvic, since there was no change. He was not concerned with the cold that I am fighting. Aren't doctors…

Question about BRACA2 positive
If a woman in her 30's tests positive. She has the hysterectomy. Will that keep her from getting the cancer? How do we know that the cells won't go to another organ if the ovaries are not there? Sorry, I know this is probably another silly question. However, this is just so new to us. Thank you again for your help. God…

My MIL started her chemo this last Thursday. (this is her 3rd relapse) Earlier in the week she had over 2 liters of fluid taken off her abdomen. Yesterday she was weak and very constipated. Is this normal? What can she do to prevent this constipation? Also, is the fluid normal too? Thanks for any words of wisdom. God…

I am a caregiver to someone with Ovarian Cancer
I am my mothers caregiver. She was diagnosed on October 16, 2008 with stage 4 ovarian cancer. 33 yo with large papillary serous cystadenoma...what are my odds?
Hi there, I'm 33 and because of 4 months of increasingly heavy periods and spotting, bloating, etc, went into the OBGYN. I was sent for a U/S due to a swollen uterus, which ended up being a normal uterus with a very large ovarian cyst sitting behind it. Measured 12cm on U/S. They said it was mostly fluid filled and felt it…
