Bone/joint stiffness since finishing chemo
Hi, Is this just me,? or is bone and joint stiffness part of post chemo changes???? I hadn't really thought about it until my sister in law asked me if I was having any problems. She'd seen something on TV somewhere and wanted my take on it. I guess I'm more focused on it now that someone else is aware of it. I find my…

For Saundra
Hi Saundra, Just wondering how you cope with the wait-and-see. I am in Florida now and was advised to get a CT scan and check with my oncologist in Wisconsin when we get back there at the end of May. I thought I was OK with that, but now I am having abdominal pains. I'm not sure if they're real or if hypochondria is…

I had one month to go until my 5 year survivor!
I just found out this Easter that my cancer is back. I've been thru 4 surgeries in the same scar where they did the surgery to remove my ovaries. They now have to cut the same area again. I know my body is weak and I'm so scared I'm not going to make it this time. I put on a happy face and strong attitude for my friends…

Angela - a fighter to the end.
It is with the greatest sadness that Angela lost her 15 month battle with Ovarian Cancer early this morning aged 35. She passed away on the 10th February at 5am at the Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Cape Town in relative comfort and piece with me by her side. She will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her. We just all…

My wonderful lady friends, Thanks so much for your prayers. My oncologist called this afternoon and had the results of my CT scan and chest xrays I had done yesterday. All negative! Cysts anyone?
Hi everyone, Has anyone had any trouble with abdominal cysts following OC surgery? I just had my first "post chemo" checkup. My CA-125 was great at 4.9 (very happy about that!), but I have a 4.4 x 3 cm cyst in my lower abdomen that wasn't there in December. It's were my right ovary would be if I still had one. My onc.…

Welcome to Christianchickcher
I am so glad you have found this site. It is full of information and support. I had IP chemo for stage 3B in the beginning months of 2008. The port was just below my right breast. There was one person at Loyola that had completed all 6 treatments prior to me and she gave me tons of good advice. I was so afraid. They say…

symptoms?
Hello, I always hear that there are no symptoms sometimes with ovarian cancer? If so, have any of you had symptoms like pain in ovaries or any common or uncommon symptoms to bring you to the gyno to get checked out? How did any of you first find out you had ovarian cancer? Also, how do you get a CA125 blood test? I know…

2.7 mm nodule on lung on Friday's CT-scan. Don't worry??
My prior 2 CT-scans have been NED, and my CA-125 has dropped steadily down to 11 during my 6 rounds of carbo/taxel chemo that ended March 26th. Today I learned that a tiny 2.7 mm (millimeter!) nodule was noted on the CT-scan I had on Friday. My radiation oncologist actually seemd angry that this was noted in my CT-scan,…

Hi everyone, I have been having aching/stiffness in my muscles (mainly biceps) and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? It feels like the stiffness you get after a mega-workout, and is getting worse. It is worse when you move about and it's even keeping me awake at night now :( I finished chemo in Nov 08…

They are saying I may want to get a port, if I need more chemo after the next one. I have not had one, I've known people that do and some hurt and some don't. Can you wear the strap tees with built in bra or does it show? How much trouble are they to keep clean? Is it fragile? Barbara I get my latest CA tomorrow will…

I say the oncologist Wed. and everything else is good in the blood counts. I am feeling good and no other indicators are showing except the continued rise in CA-125 which…

gemzar or doxil?
HI ladies, I have a question for a Canadian friend who also has OVCA and lives here in Japan. She was dx 12-06 3C, had carbo/cisplatin/taxol for first line chemo, carbo/taxol for 2nd line and is going on femara to have a break for a few months. Her next chemo choice is gemzar or doxil. I have noticed that doxil seems to be…

Decadron ?
I was diagnosed with Ovarian and Endometrial Cancer in December 2008. I've noticed that since my chemo treatments have started I have been getting angry about little things and then I take it out on people who technically don't deserve it. Is anger a side effect from this steroid? I heard that it could be but haven't…

Result of Ct-Scan
Hi Everyone, I just got the result of my Ct-Scan. I have a tumor on the top of my vagina. My CA-125 went from 34 to 50.6 in a few weeks. I guess my CA 125 is a good indicator something is wrong. The Onc where I get my chemo made a appointment immediately to see my GYN/ONC in Lehigh Valley for Tuesday. My Onc up where I…
