PET Scan found Soft Glow in Liver (Golf Ball Size)
I am asking for my mother. Are the glows on the PET Scan always cancer? They want to follow up with an MRI to get a better picture and if that's not clear a biopsy. They found one soft glowing golf ball size in her liver. I thought PET Scans were the best. (Background)She started with Kidney cancer years ago and had one…

A question for the gents
I guess a catheter will be a necessary part of the surgery. I’ve looked at info about the process, but nothing has told me how it feels (insertion, wearing/using, removal?). Painful at all, or just uncomfortable? Also, how long was your catheter in place after the surgery? I can’t be assured if the surgery will be lap. or…

Survivorship Program Appointment
I had my first appointment with the nurse practitioner at Stanford’s Survivorship Program this morning. It went quite well. It took an hour, though a part of that was just introducing myself and her asking questions to get to know me. She asked what I wanted to get out of the appointment. I explained that in addition to…

3 mo post OP check up
Had my 3 mo post OP check up and my scans looked good...no sign of any problems. Also had a cyst on my left kidney that has decompressed since my last scan...so that's gone. My blood work was all awesome...he said my kidney function was perfect. So I'm apparently all good till my next check in 6 months from now.

Lung Wedge Resection
On 2/12 I will have a 3-4cm tumor removed in my upper right lung. RCC metastasis. Maybe a piece of the rib. Anybody have a surgery like this? I'm wondering what to expect in recovery and long term from this? The surgeon said I won't lose function, but I'm just guessing the pleura will not heal like it was before and…

New here post op woes
My mass was discovered in April 2021, it was 2.4cm. It was an incidental finding. At the time I didn't have a primary physician because I fired him for not treating my recurring uti that came out of no where. After my second scans, the mass grew to 2.7cm. I had a partial nephrectomy on 11/8/21. Two days later I ended up in…

Helllo, I am new to the board. I had an initial diagnoses of a 3.3cm renal mass in right kidney and urologist recommended surgery to remove as he was 95% sure it was cancerous. I went for pre op today and a new CT scan showed the mass shrunk in about 4 months to 2.5cm. is this a common occ and could it kept shrinking? i am…

Hi everyone, I am trying to help my 68 yo mother with her possible kidney cancer diagnosis. Her initial primary symptoms were a sharp pain in her flank and general fatigue. New here. Diagnosed August 2.
Had CT scan for kidney stones and found a soft tissue mass too. MRI diagnosed Renal cell carcinoma. Now had 24 hr UA and blood work. And will see urologist mid November. Appears that this is real slow growing as the doctor found a CT scan from 7 years ago and was able to see it. Waiting is very annoying and locally because…

Partial or Radical?
Hello, I am new here. Six years ago I had a 5cm tumor and had a partial nephrectomy of the left kidney. My doctor said I have 2/3 kidney remaining. Last week I had a CT scan for another issue, and a 1.7cm mass was discovered in my right kidney, "mid-kidney cortex lateral." I have searched the internet for information if…

News is good
After nearly a month of check-ups, tests, etc. with various doctors, I think I can breathe freely for at least another 6 months or more. Nephrologist-Check: The one kidney is hanging in there at Stage 3B and is stable. Don't have to go back for 6 months, instead of every 4 mo. Eyes-Check; new Rx for near vision so I'm…

Almost 6 year follow-up and found cyst
So I went today to get my follow up done . I will be 6 years in January. Looked in portal....Chest xray good, thyroid good, but ultrasound reads "right midsole parapelvic cyst 1.7 x 1.1 x 1.0 cm". That's since last January. Needless to say I'm scared again. Have to wait to hear from Dr. Anyone else have a cyst?

Scanxiety again
Hello everyone, was glad to see several NEDs lately! Hoping for the same for my husband. His chest x-ray is coming on Friday. He hadn't had one for 2 years already. As he was Stage 1a Grade 1, doctor stopped doing follow ups after 3 years. Now husband does it on his own initiative (luckily scans are rather cheap in our…

Hello everyone, I just recently had an ultrasound to find out if I had a cyst or solid tumor on my kidney.
