Grace 14
Was it really necessaray for you to post on the Colon Club about our CSN board? You stated "there are nasty people on there and not very encouraging". Perhaps you should be more specific. Most people on CSN are very encouraging, respectful, well informed and compasionate. Yes, there are some bullies that seem to fade in…

Shopping
Someone came and stayed with hubby for 3 hours this afternoon, so that I could leave and get some Christmas shopping done. I came home without buying a single gift. I just couldn't wrap my brain around it. All I can do is worry about how sick he is. Too late to order gifts online, I am running out of options. How can I…

PET results are back
I can't even describe the relief and thankfulness that I'm experiencing! Pet scan was clear. We are waiting on a radiologists interpretation of an area in the small intestines, not concerning cancer, just an area from previous surgery. Hoping it does not play into not have iliostomy reversal tomorrow or my hubbys going to…

Post-surgery and the shock of hearing the word "cure". And a philosophical question.
Two weeks ago, I had my fifth surgery in two years. I have a super-funky tumor type that normally never shows up in the colon (it's extremely rare under any circumstances but is usually in the uterus), and the chemos I've tried haven't worked for me at all, so surgery has been my best shot at survival. Surgeons took out…

Husband Surgery
Surgery lasted about eight hours, less than I expected. Surgeon cut out liver spot, took out original colon tumor, scraped diaphragm, removed any tumor visible, and finished with chemo bath. Surgeon was able to reconnect colon w/o ostomy. I realize there are challenges ahead but feel at peace tonight. I can't wait to tell…

found an interesting article
Hello All . . . . Read this article yesterday and have been thinking about it a lot since then. It doesn't talk about stages, but as a stage IV with 32 chemos so far and no chance (yet) for surgery it gave me some much needed hope with survivorship. Thought it was worth sharing.…

Venting
stage IV colon cancer, it is back in my bowel, lung and as odd as this is in the muscle near my spine causing great pain. Radiation is what is perscribed and a cocktail of chemo after the biospy of the "genetic make up" is of the reaccurance. The thought process is that they need to know what the genetic code is to…

consultation with specialist after Lynch diagnosis
I thought this might be the best place to start for feedback from others with Lynch syndrome - after your Lynch diagnosis, did you seek a consult with a specialist beyond your primary oncologist? I had endometrial cancer and recently received my Lynch diagnosis through genetic testing, etc. What I'm wondering is if it's…

After being diagnosed with Colon Cancer (at age 31) I ended up being diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome (at 32) as well. I am wondering if anyone knows of any online support groups for those who have had hereditary cancers.
