I saw somewhere too it's good to boil into water....strain the astralagus off, and use the water afterwards to make rice. Wondering if I need to be concerned whether there is a lot of selenium in the whole root??0 -
huang qi 黃耆 Astragalus root
huang qi 黃耆 Astragalus root
6 to 10 grams slow boiled (rolled) in nine cups of
water, down to three cups. Strain out the herbs
and drink the broth, one cup, three times per day.
Can raise or lower the blood pressure, depending on the
amount used.
Self-medicating is not a great idea, unless you have a qualified
TCM practitioner or qualified herbalist to call on if a problem arises.
Out of curiosity, what problem are you attempting to address
with this herb? Most herbs are not used alone, they are used
along with other complimentary herbs in specific formulas to
achieve the results needed.
Please remember, that anything that can "tonify" the body, may
also tonify a cancer cell. Make sure you know exactly what
an herb is capable of, before you go gulping them down.
