A tad frustrated
Hey, I didn't post on Friday that I had blood drawn, because I figured I'd post today with wonderful CEA results. Well, I could if I KNEW the results! I called at lunch time today and had to leave a message. Even though I left my cell phone number, they didn't call back. I am assuming that since my oncologist didn't call…

Stoma guard and insurance
I have been fighting with my insurance company to cover the cost of an Active Life Stoma Guard by Stoma Plex and getting no where. Anyone have any success? I have been given an 800 number for Walgreen's and will see if they can get it and bill my insurance. I do not want to pay $148 for this nice piece (it is worth it) for…

Any Tips on Giving Up My Status as a Junkie?
Hi all-I've been taking Vicodin for almost a year now, and would love to stop using it. I was taking it originally for joint and muscle pain brought on by chemo, and recently had to double my dosage (from two pills a day to four) in the aftermath of surgery. Now I feel I don't really need to take it anymore, as my pain…

Safely made another switch....UPDATE
Whew!...and during the flight, my beau saved a man's life! (We were then moved to first class...too bad it was after dinner *smile*). As a result, ended up with a stopover in Chicago on our 'nonstop' flight.... Dutch hugs, Kathi

Pathologic Complete Response
Anybody else out there had or know someone that had a pathologic complete response to neoadjuvant chemoradiation and what they did post surgery treatment wise. I am getting conflicting advice on what to do. As you can guess, oncologist recommends chemo and surgeon does not. The surgeon has been involved in research on this…

Still here...
Just finished another round of chemo. It is however staving off the cancer as my baseline CEA started at 67, the next check was 36, and this one yesterday was 20.7. My Onc informed me that if it kept heading down that I will be a candidate for a chemo break about the end of March. Says I can stay off until they see a…

hard lump scar tissue or something else?
For a little over two months now, I have had a hard "something" in the right side of my abdomen- right under the bottom of where my scar from my liver resection is. It was bothering me for awhile, but now it doesn't hurt or bother me anymore, physically, that is. My onc felt it and said he thought it probably was scar…

Depression After Surgery
We are now three weeks post surgery and my husband's biggest post operative problem is his mind not his body. We have so much for which to be thankful for; pain is at a manageable point, bowels are moving good and wound is healing nicely. But he continues to be paranoid, anxious, and generally disinterested in the world…

HIPEC
HIPEC. I was told on another post that HIPEC would be a good option for me since they found a tumor on my abdominal wall which they did remove. I looked the prceedure up on line and it sounds very promising. It looks like only a handful of hospitals do it. I would like to hear from anyone who has done this and how long it…

Had surgery, 22+/27 lymph nodes, mets to liver. Had more scans. Not really sure but had in the vicinity of 20 tumors, scattered all across the liver.…

7 Years
Hi all, Some of the older members may remember me, and to the newbies, "Hello". This past Friday marked 7 years since my surgery for stage 2a colon cancer. I chose the pills this time
