Duration of Side Effects
I've been told and read extensively about the side effects from my chemo drugs, taxotere and cytoxan, but what I can't seem to find out is how long do some these symptoms last? For instance, the bone pain, the metallic taste in the mouth (mine just started today), the fatigue? Do they go away before you start your next…

First Treatment of A/C Was Horrible-Does it Get Any Better?
I had my first A/C treatment last week. My doctor and the chemo nurses were convinced that due to my age, overall health and positive attitude the treatments would be a breeze. Quite frankly, so did I !! WRONG!!! It was horrible. the drugs they gave me to prevent nausea gave me such a bad headache that it made me feel…

Delayed Reaction = Weight GAIN
As some of you know, I found a lump in August 04, delayed the doctor until Oct (I know) and had surgery just after Thanksgiving. An aPEELing Thing
Hello Ladies...I have started to shed my radiation skin and underneath is the baby pink start of new skin. Little tender, but I am glad to see the old dark brown peel away. Kind of like a fresh start for spring. To let the others know who are having radiation, it isn't too bad. A little itchy, a little ouchy, but once this…

I have been enjoying learning yoga lately. I find that I have limited mobility on my mas. side, but it is not too bad. Now I am looking forward to getting expanders and implants (I will also get a small implant on my non. mas. side). Those of you who have had implants...how much did it cut down on mobility? I know that…

I'm 46, married w/two teens. Recently diagnosed with DCIS. Was told my outcome is basically the same (favorable) for either treatment (lumpectomy w/rad or mastectomy). Surgery is set for lumpectomy...still wondering if I should just opt for mastectomy without radiation. STill unsure and seeking peace with decision. Is…

2nd chemo
Had second chemo today. Doc just gave me the abraxane. The avastin will just be every other week. I was really surprised after the first round. The abraxane doesn't have all the harsh chemicals to deliver it and I didn't have any real side effects at all. Not even the bad taste that you normally get. Even my blood counts.…

Follow Up: Saved By the Pink!
Hi Everybody, So, after our last post regarding the "Pink Yukkies," I had a low-impact epiphany that I wanted to share with you. My morning coffee is one of the highlights of my day. Itching
I'm hoping one of you amazing survivors can help with my irritating itching. I finished chemo last week (HOORAY), but the joy of Taxol keeps giving. I have intense itching to my extremities at sometimes really inconvenient times. I can't use oral Benadryl because it turns me into a jumpy tap dancer (if I could tap dance),…
