Strands of Hair
Two days ago it would be day 12 after first treatment. Driving home my head was hurting and began to rub it. That is when the first several strands were noticed in hands. The next day, more and more in shower, sink, etc. not much on pillow. My husband and a few others finally convinced me to just cut excessively short, GI…

Hair has started to grow back!
I've noticed some hair on my head is starting to grow back!! It's kind of sporadic and if it continues like this I may resemble Larry of the the Three Stooges but hey, maybe I could do a comb-over!! The hair coming in is perfectly white so it's hard to see but it's there!!! I can also see - using a magnifying mirror - a…

She was 16 years old and our granddaughter had been friends with her since kindergarten. She went to the nurse's office and told her she wasn't feeling good. All of a sudden, she went into cardiac arrest…

Weekly chemo vs every 3 weeks
Hi, I think TeddyandBears_Mom started out doing weekly chemos but switched to every 3 week schedule? I was wondering if smaller, but more frequent doses would keep my blood counts esp. platelets up better? I think I read where she said the weekly was worse than every 3 weeks. Also, if I mention this to my doctor and he…

Finally got results
Hello everyone, I just thougt I'd share my update on my endometrial biopsy. Hysterectomy and debulking recovery questions???
I had a full hysterectomy and debulking done Friday (last week). There were small tumors on most of my organs, but they were easily removed. He got all visible cancer, and said that chemo will get the rest. Anyway, I am normally a VERY active person (I ran 8 miles two days before diagnosis), and am not used to being…

Low platelets again today-no chemo
My platelets only rose 1 point, now 95. Haven't heard from doctor yet about not getting chemo on Monday, but I'm sure sometime this afternoon they will cancel because they are strict about being above 100. I've read some cancer centers and doctors believe in treating according to symptoms, not numbers. I don't have…

My chemo has to be postponed tomorrow-low platelets!
I think they are giving ne a massive dose of chemo - the taxol is a little over 500 (something or other when I think I have it calculated that I should have somewhere under 400) and it's wrecking my blood work. My counts are all low, but WBC & red is still above cutoff. However, platelets are 94, down again from last time…

My mother's Hysterectomy
My mother just got back from a 4 day hospital stay following a hysterectomy. They removed her Uterus, ovaries and lymphnodes. Port Ache
So, I've been pretty active lately, pruning roses, sawing branches, riding the bike, re-arranging cabinets, etc., and really stretching my right arm. It seems as though the area around my port, really, the whole upper part of my chest extending toward my right arm has a very mild ache. There's no heat or swelling that I…

I thought maybe today would be my last time for Wound Care but my doctor ended up doing a chemical cauterization of "granulation tissue." Yowza, that burned!!! Sitting home after recovering from a laparoscopic biopsy. Still cannot wrap my head around this reoccurring uterine cancer. Chemo options
Ladies, I haven't been on for a while, mostly because I've been pretty stable. My CA 125 has been running in the mid 200s since early October, but have jumped from 252 to 378 in about 4 weeks. A year ago I was found to be platinum resistant to Taxol/carboplatin so when My CA 125 took a jump, I started on Doxil. After 6…
