Anybody else refused Neulasta?
I have been miserable since last Thursday with awful joint pain in my pelvis, hips, ribs, sternum and back since I had my Neulasta shot on Wednesday. It almost feels like they're vibrating in pain. My WBC was 3.6 ten days after my first chemo but had gone to 8.3 right before my second chemo (normal range). I ate WBC…

A little more good news, and Happy Thanksgiving!!
Ladies, thought I would check in and let you know that I had my most recent infusion of Avastin on Friday and my CA125 had dropped again to 14 (it was at 53 before I started the Avastin). I am feeling so grateful going into Thanksgiving and wanted to share that with all of you. My daughter recently pointed out that it is…

My mom is starting chemo again
I'm in shock right now and because my mom doesn't want to share the news of her recurrence with anyone until after Thanksgiving, I have no one to talk to. After two years of remission, my mom started having lower back pain. She pushed her doctor for a PET scan and on Saturday, he called with the news that she will begin…

Losing my hair (and my wig)
I didn't know whether to post this or not but here goes. By the way, I haven't let anybody except our two daughters, see me without my wig. I spent the weekend at our place in northern Wisconsin with my husband and son. On Friday we had a couple of inches of snow but by Sunday, it was an absolutely beautiful day with a…

post frontline chemo update
One month after my "last" chemo NO single hair yet, anywhere...... Otherwise no change with the Neuropathy, not better not worse, headaches are less, overall fine. Keeping myself busy and distracted, so not to think about recurrence.

I had chemo on Tuesday, Neulasta on Wednesday and I am so tired today I can barely move. Hopefully tomorrow will be better! Haven't had much bone pain but I was taking Claritin and have my Oxycodon if I need it. No appetite but I see a nutritionist the week after next to see if we can come up with a low cholesterol, low…

Chemo day
Sitting here "enjoying" my chemo! WBC is up and so is my RBC. CA 125 at 12.2 and my doctor said they won't be able to use it as an indicator. And, weirdest of all, my blood clotting problem is getting BETTER with chemo when it should be getting worse. So far I've lost over 20# and have to see the nutritionist. I'm just not…

In-person Support Groups
Just curious... has anyone here found any local support groups specific to uterine or gynecological cancers in their areas? Some here have mentioned that they have never met another woman with uterine cancer, and neither have I. I had searched a couple of times in the last few months and found absolutely nothing, though I…

I bought my wig!
Since I start chemo on Tuesday and my doctor wants me to stay home for the three weeks after, I made an appointment to look at wigs. My doctor and chemo nurse said my hair will definitely fall out, probably after the second round. I wanted something as close to my style and color but ended up with a shade darker blonde. I…

This is my "best" week
Pretty much everything happened to me after my chemo that you all said would except I didn't have any constipation, just diarhea. I am in my third week and I feel great except most of my hair is gone. Last Monday I had it all cut short but they saved my braids. It was coming out in gobs!! I have round 2 of my chemo next…

Q about oncologist.
I need a little help. My Mom was diagnosed with UPSC Stage 3c about a year ago and has undergone a round of chemo, then radiation, then Herceptin and the cancer is still progressing, it has spread to lymph nodes in her neck, lungs and possible liver. She goes to a Kaiser clinic and no matter what I do, I can't get her to…

Recent diagnosis
Hi everyone. I recently learned I have uterine cancer and the results of the endometrial biopsy showed papillary serous cells. Felt like someone had punched me in the nose when the gyn informed me a little over a week ago that my pap smear was extremely abnormal and she needed to do a biopsy right away for cancer. She…

To painful to use dialator still after 6 months since finishing radiation.
I feel so upset about what I have to deal with every other day to get the dialalater in. Still feel raw inside and my whole pelvic area aches badly. I didn't feel this bad during chemo or after my hysterectomy. When I tell my doctor, he just says it may just take more time to heal. My stomach has been bothering me for the…

Bad news/Good news
Yesterday and today's chemo had to be postponed because my platelet count was to low. We will try again next week.. i knew it would happen, but I was hoping to get in a few more treatments before I ran into trouble. My anemia is also back and I had almost climbed out of that hole. Bummer. Good new: My CA 125 dropped from…

Superfatigued and depression

I am about three weeks out from finishing my treatments. I am not exercising much except for climbing the stairs several times a day…

Recurrence Fear
Once you have finished treatment, how do you stop yourself from constantly thinking about the possible return of cancer? You think about it when you eat, what you eat, making time to exercise, appoitments etc. How to do you minimize thinking about it?

Weird night - I had a dream I was in pain but it was just a dream
Has this happened to any of you? I woke up about 3:00 a.m. "thinking" I was in terrible pain. My side of the bed is about four steps to our bathroom and I went in there to get some percoset. But....when I got in there, there was no real pain at all. I felt just fine! I wiggled my arms and legs and moved around a bit and,…

I had my hysterectomy September 30th with no complications except a UTI. Today I started bleeding. I did about 20 minutes of EASY exercise this morning for the first time since surgery. I came back from the hospital where I went for my blood test and found it. It's stopped now. All afternoon I played telephone tag with my…

First chemo went good
I had my first chemo yesterday at noon and I was home by 3:30. That was really good time because I didn't have any adverse reaction to it. I'm having Taxotere and Carboplatin after a steroid which takes about 15 minutes. I took the Miralax as a lot of your recommended and have been drinking so much I have a path worn from…
