Hair has started to grow back!
I've noticed some hair on my head is starting to grow back!! It's kind of sporadic and if it continues like this I may resemble Larry of the the Three Stooges but hey, maybe I could do a comb-over!! The hair coming in is perfectly white so it's hard to see but it's there!!! I can also see - using a magnifying mirror - a few stray eyebrows! Oh....life is good!!
I go tomorrow for, hopefully, my last trip to wound care. The piece of skin they cauterized turned black and fell off. It's left an ugly scar but I think it's healed and there's no more pain!!
Next week I see my GP and get my blood retested and if everything is good, I was thinking about taking a little trip to some warmer climate with my husband. For the past six years we've spent a couple of weeks on the gulf in Florida. I know he wants to go but was worried about my health. I will also start physical therapy after my GP clears me but I could play hookey for a week or so? Who knows what the future may bring? There may be no "next year" for me. I've read about all the lovely ladies who are no longer with us. I don't want to have any regrets - coulda, shoulda, woulda.
Love,
Eldri

GO!
Glad your hair is slowly returning too!
Florida is warming up nicely now! :-)
It is fun to watch your hair grow back. Right now, my husband can't resist rubbing my head just about every time he passes by. LOL

go someplace warm! Those snowdrifts will be there when you return. I am happy to hear that you are beginning to see some hair poking through. It just takes time, and I'm sure your hair will come back nicely.
Take good care of yourself, Eldri,
Cathy

im so happy your hair is growing back. This gives hope to me as one who hasn't even lost hers yet. I say go for the trip! We are planning to go to Gulf shores for a week leaving on Friday. This is all hopeful since I just had my first chemo yesterday. So far I feel fine, but in looking at others chemo it seems like We'd or Thursday might start the stomach issues. I am familiar with those as I had a lot with radiation and am hopeful I have the tools to deal with them. I hope I'm not foolish in going on the trip, but I have family renting a place and I will have a lot of relaxation time. My husband is very patient. We will stop a lot and make the trip in two days from Illinois hopefully☺️.

If you follow the pattern of several of us... the worst days will start about 3 days after your treatment. You will know before Friday if you can enure the trip.
My hope for you is that you will! Remember to drink a lot of fluids and take Miralax.
Good Luck and I hope you have a great time!
Love and Hugs,

Florida and Hair
My hair came back with a lot of gray, then the dark brown took over. So wait for a bit more to see the real color. Mine is now curly and stands straight up. (which actually looks good, gives me some height).
Florida is glorious right now. Cold in the morning (56degrees this a.m.) and bright and glorious at noon (70 degrees).
I'm dealing with wound care now also.. a non-healing surgical wound... so you know I was cheering that yours is officially complete. It seems to take forever doesn't it? My surgery was in mid November, and three months later, it is still open. (although it is ---slowly---- healing). Ugly scar. I'm hoping I get used to this one eventually.
