Strongest woman ever
It has been a while since i checked in, but I am happy to share that my grams made it through her third round of chemo with no complications, and I will be flying up tomorrow to stay with her for her fourth round of chemo, she has surpassed her doctors expections and on january 30th she celebrated her 88th birthday. She is my hero, and the strongest person I know. Please keep her in your prayers. Unfortunately my great uncles current cancer treatment has is no longer affective, so please keep him in your thoughts to that his doctors can find another treatment, even when he has been in pain and battling for his life also he has been helping his big sister my grams through her battle and complications, he is also the kindest and most caring person I know i am so grateful to have him in my life

Such an inspiration!
Wow, Lolathecat, your grandmother is such an inspiration! I will think of her whenever I want to indulge in my own little pity-party! Sending both her and your great uncle thoughts of strength and comfort as you all fight through these terrible battles. ((Hugs)) Kim

Yes!
How wonderful and yes a very strong woman. You also though, It's sometimes tougher on the loved ones, watching and trying to support those with cancer, and to have two in your family is mind boggling. Many prayers and blessings on your family. When you see her, please tell her this 67 year old woman is struggling with the effects of chemo, so she is my hero also. Hugs Nancy

I agree! It is amazing that
I agree! It is amazing that your 88 year old gram is making it through this chemo. After my 3rd round I was never, in my entire life, so sick. This is tough stuff - tell your gram, I am cheering her on. And, I hope they can find a treatment for her brother too.
Love,
Eldri

How terrible for you
to have two people you love fighting for their lives! And yet how lucky you have been to have them in your life. They both sound like such wonderful people. I so hope that your grandmother continues to handle chemo so well and that they both are able to win this battle. Love, Sandy

Thank you
Thank you all for, all the lovely thoughts and wishes ai read them to my grams and they really brightened her day. So far she has made it through round 4 terrifically, her chemo was this past friday and she definitley was not feeling great from the last few days, but she described it as an 8 out of 10 pain wise, where as round three was about a 12.. The dr had also given her gabapentin this time which has really seemed to help. unfortunately for me being stuck in the airport for two days, flight after cancelled flight once I got up here I came down with bronchitis (definitley driving next time).. Luckily her and my great uncle dont tease me too much in my hazmatt facemask and constant decontamination practices. Darrel my great uncle goes in on thursday, to find out what kind of time trying this other type of chemo might give him, so please keep him in your prayers he loves life so very much, and please continue praying for grams. Love to all for the continued support and love and support to you all as well in your fight !!

So glad your Grams and Uncle have you in their lives. I'm sure your presence gives them the support they need to keep on fighting.
I'm hopeful they both are able to stay strong in their fights. And that you are able to keep your spirits up. This journey is not easy for our Caregivers. Thank you for being such a great support for them.
Sending positive energy to both of them.
Love and Hugs,
Cindi

How lucky and blessed your grams and uncle are to have you. And what a job you have. Caregiving is not easy. many times I think that this si much harder on my poor patient husband that it is on me. So glad she had an easier time with the chemo this time. Hugs and prayers to all of you. Lou Ann

I was wondering how things were going. I'm glad to hear your grandma is not in as much pain and hopefully your great uncle will find something that works.
I took care of my grandma who died of natural causes (she decided not to have a bladder infection treated) in 2000 at 93. I think of her all the time - she meant so much to me. I can see how much your grandma means to you too.
Love,

Yours seems to be quite a family of fighters! Please let your grams and uncle know that we're routing for them both. Hope you feel better soon, too!
