Hello Everyone! I haven't been on here in awhile. I was here in Feb. and March so scared out of my mind with the news that I had uterine cancer, but I had not been staged yet. I finally had my surgery on April 9th and the news was very good. The doctor did a complete and total hysterectomy and also took 29 lymph nodes. She…

Doxil and Prozac
The lab that discovered the liposomes for doxil have also discovered that prozac helps make cells chemo sensitive. It certainly is worth a try if you are on doxil. http://new.jpost.com/HealthAndSci-Tech/Health/Article.aspx?id=124811 Diane

Uterine Papillary Serous Carcinoma (UPSC) -- new member of the sisterhood
After much cumbersome searching, I finally found Linda Procopio's discussion created on 10/26/2008, "Uterine Papillary Serous Carcinoma (UPSC): any others here???". There is so much valuable info on this extensive board (435 replies as of this writing)but I did find it quite cumbersome to navigate through and post. Based…

Cancer: it ain't fun but sure as hell is interesting! (today's onc appt.)
I swear my body must be incredibly wierd and unique. I met with my chemo-onc today to review Monday's CT/PET results. He did a side-by-side comparison of my CT/PET slides from back in November 2009 when these same 2 nodes last lit up. Both are considerably smaller than they were back in November (although of course, they…

Interesting Article posted on Caring4Cancer site
I think I was a regular exerciser with working 12 hour shifts as a nurse on a med-surg floor. Not much sitting with that job. And gardening for many hours on my days off, plus walking about 40-60 minutes everyday. I do use talcum powder in my perineal area. I will think twice about using it anymore. I had no symptoms when…

Unofficial CT/PET scan results and official CA125
Well, not the news I wanted but it could have been much worse. My CA125 went up from 24.6 to 53.9, and 2 of the 3 lymph nodes that had disappeared on my last CT/PET lit up again. (sigh) The news on my scan is unofficial, but here's what I learned: The para-aortic lymph node that lit up is really tiny and wasn't even…

How much fluid to drink and protein to consume during taxol/carboplatin treatments
Everyone, Is it correct to drink 64 ounces (8 cups a day) of fluids while on taxol/carboplatin?
