Good News to Share

Since my mom's recurrence of Stage III UPSC in December, we have not had a break from bad news and complications.

Wednesday she had a CT scan to monitor the effect of the new chemo and...

THE SCAN SHOWS IMPROVEMENT!!!

This is the most wonderful day. I was so scared to find out the results.

I think it is important to note that the chemo she's getting now is very new, her cancer was resistant to carbo/taxol. The current drug is ixabepilone, brand name Ixempra, first approved for metastatic breast cancer. It has really been taking a toll, she did well with the carbo/taxol and radiation but this one is hard-hitting. Apparently it is hitting the CANCER hard, making it all seem worth it.

    Congrats! You know we can all have hope. Part of the journey is to be positive and know we'll get thru the tough times and smile on the other side of happiness!!

    So glad your Mom got good results from her CAT scan. You both have to be so happy. Enjoy this wonderful day. Sorry to hear the new drug is hard on your Mom though. I too wish you hope and encouragement. In peace and caring.
