Back from cruise
The transatlantic cruise was wonderful. We had calm seas and only one morning of drizzle out of the 19 days. The temperatures were in the 40 -50's, so we dressed in layers. I had plenty of energy for all the travel, but am having a hard time with the jet lag since we returned back to Florida. We had five nights where we…

Got the results on Friday of my first post treatment scans. Bone scan was clean. CT scan showed cysts on some abdominal lymph nodes, but the mass was not dense; otherwise, a clean report. I am curious to know if anyone with Uterine Serous Carcinoma has ever tried Herceptin? It was brought up in one of our appointments with our onc and in doing further research, I found several articles that talk about using it with much success for UPSC. One article was even titled "HER2/neu overexpression: has the…

Well it's always something, I got the results from my recent Ct Scan which was on Tues. the 20th of April. I was told o.k. I have good news and bad news. Good news is that lung nodules are not growing and some seem to look like they are shrinking. The bad news is we seem to think there is a blood clot in the chest area. I…

NED!!!
It doesn't seem possible coming from a diagnosis of Stage IIIC Figo Grade 2, but I got a nod from my Onc/Gyn doc that I am in remission. (My diagnosis, and treatments are posted in my bio) He said I don't have to come back for 3 months unless I exhibit symptoms like vaginal bleeding and the like. I am thrilled and at the…

New research on the rare BONE METS as a site of endometrial cancer recurrence:

2nd round taxol/carboplatin
This Thursday I am having my second round of taxol/carboplatin. The first round wasn't too bad, the anti-emetics held off the nausea/vomiting, but the fatigue and body aches & pains were pretty bad. I am told that each successive chemo round will "be worse." Can anybody share their experience with me? Did you get new side…

Bad cramping and bleeding so heavy at first that I would go through one super tampon every 20-30 minutes…

Had my Oct. 2008 hysterectomy slides re-evaluated: Now I'm in SHOCK!!
This certainly shows how "iffy" cancer pathology analysis must be! After my UPSC Stage III-c recurred, and I'd finished 10 rounds of weekly taxol, I got a clean CT/PET and was allowed to take a chemo break even though my CA125 was slightly elevated (CA125 was 142.) So we made a plan that I would come in for another CA125…
