I will be operated on in 2 weeks and have no idea how I will get to the hospital!

I am new to the area, I have been here for only 4 months and have no friends and my two family members don't drive. Is there anywhere I can call? I am on state insurance, andmy finances aren't too good either. I would appreciate any suggestions.

    Transportation to the hospital
Check with your local social services office and see if they have a transportation program. Also check with the hospital where you are to have your surgery. Other ideas might be: local churches or service clubs. Good luck!

    about transportation
Hello my friend: Welcome aboard. I am so sorry about your situation. If you have a computer you can google "American Cancer Society" They will help you to and from the hospital and will also help you with your appointments, especially since you have limited means. If you don't have a computer, dial information and ask them for the nearest american cancer society. Please let us know how you made out and what your diagnosis is. We are all here to give you moral support. Don't worry too much you will get through this. Big hugs and best wishes. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. June

    Transportation
If you are on medicaid they also pay for a cab to take you to the hospital or doctors office. We also have a program called "Ribbon of Hope" here in Indiana that helps cancer patients out with transportation. They are with our local hospital. Good luck with the surgery.
