Goodbye dear friend
I am sad to share that our dear sister Joyce, known here as jbeans888 passed this morning. She fought valiantly always with a bright spirit. I called her my little hero because after her initial treatment she lived her life to the fullest. I loved her. My heart is broken. Karen

Clinical trials
I was on the Olaparib clinical trial for 2 years, but I had only received carbo/taxol. My doctor implied that it's harder to find a clinical trial for a patient who has taken more chemo or medications. Has this been your experience? Thanks!

Damage to kidneys
Hello, I am wondering if any of you are among the 30% of women whose kidneys are affected by the chemo. I just learned that I am one. I am on paclitaxilel and cisplatin, cisplatin is the likely cause and they have reduced this by one fifth. as a result I am looking at taking fewer and fewer of the "supporting" drugs to not…

My good friend is dying after fighting ovarian cancer for 5 years. Only two weeks ago we were hanging out together in the hospital, complaining about bland food and trying on wigs; and now she is in a coma on life support. I don't want the horror I saw yesterday in her dark hospital room to replace the memory of the…

The waiting game
Hello all, I'm new to this site. I had thyroid cancer last year. (Complete thyroidectomy and radiation). I've always had an issue with ovarian cysts. I had been told that it was a normal part of being a woman so I never really gave it much thought. I was just going to be "one of those" women who had issues. A few weeks…

Possible recurrence of Ovarian Cancer
I was treated for Ovarian cancer 12 years ago, breast cancer 10 years ago, and skin cancer 2 years ago. Last week my doc found a mass in the pelvic area and I'm terrified. I'm 66 years old and I don't think I have the emotional strength to go through more chemo and surgery. Chat rooms were extremely helpful while I was on…

Hello. I have read conflicting articles about comsuming soy with Ovarian Cancer and or Carcinosarcoma. I don't of course. Do any…

Thanksgiving 2015
Dear Teal Sisters, Happy Thanksgiving from the Pacific North West! It is 17 degrees F and the winds are quiet. So, I am thankful for my husband, sons, family and…

“60 Minutes” ran a segment last night (you can find it online) about an oncologist and research scientist in LA – Dr. Patrick Soon-Shoing – who is championing a low-dose, multi-chemo approach to fighting cancer. This is exactly what my own oncologist, Dr. Howard Bruckner, has been doing with tremendous success for years.…

CA-125 Questions
Hoping somebody can help me decipher what the doctors are telling me about CA-125. What I'm hearing seems really contradictory. I am 2 years into this and had a 10 month NED period before a recurrence in November, 2014. CA-125 was always an excellent measure for me. * Was 207 before first surgery * After first chemo, was…

My Story---need advice
Hi everyone, I'm a Thy Ca survivor, with an undiagnosed ovarian mass. All of my tests have come back indeterminate. Was wondering if anyone had any…
