Just a quick question!
My mom has a cancer of unknown primary. However, her oncologist suspects that ovaries are the source due to her blood tests. She has had 4 sessions of radiotherapy so far to treat the lesions in her back that are pressing on her nerves. She will be doing chemo after she finishes radio next week. However, she had severe…

PPC vs UPSC
is there a difference? I'm trying to keep up with everything on behalf of my sister whose initial diagnosis was serous carcinoma of the endometrium, stage IVB. She went to MDA for a second opinion which validated the first. I will have her ask for the written diagnosis from MDA, but in the meanwhile, can someone unravel…

Taking a Break
My CT scan results showed that I'm close to remission, except for small tumors in the abdomen. Both the chemo doctor and GYN/ONC said that if it were them, they'd take a rest from the chemo and its side effects and watch it. My platelets and ability to fight infection did take a beating. They say that surgery would be too…

Thank you Nancy
Thank you Nancy for responding. No, I haven't kept the skin gathered after putting in the needle, we were told in the beginning we didn't have to. I don't know what's right anymore. I am getting so disgusted with this whole injection bit. And, I do get a little lump afterwards. It's a shame, my whole belly area is full of…

Hi Nancy, first I saw your video and I thought it was beautiful. Your son was absolutely adorable. I'm not sure if you're up to it, but I need some help with the blood thinner injections and I know that you're currently getting them. Are you still on them? Do you black and blue after the injection? I seem to black and blue…

Alcohol During Chemo
A while ago, in a topic I no longer recall, I said that I had been "told" not to drink alcohol during chemo. I believe it was one of several dietary guidelines in a handout I was given prior to my first chemo. Carlene had asked me about that, but I've been unable to find the source. I do know that it did not come directly…

My heart is with you
I just wanted to wish you all comfort and healing. My mother died at age 49 from ovarian cancer. She was a great mom and I'm so lucky to have known her. Hi Nancy, I was just wondering how you're doing. Hope all is going well for you. P.S. Decided to try to plan a trip this year to Disney and take my nephew. Laundry Queen - response to anxiety from AntCat
Hi, it's so funny that you should have mentioned Ashwaganda. My sister just saw that on Dr. Oz last week and told me about it. I always get so afraid to take anything herbal while on chemotherapy, as I read the drug interactions and it says to be careful with herbs. I've asked my previous oncologist about taking herbs and…
