Reoccuring Ascites
Can anyone tell me about reoccuring ascites? After two years of treatment for ovarian cancer my friend has developed ascites and has the paracetesis procedure done approximately every other week. Will it eventually go away? Any light you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

My mother, who is 66, was diagnosed with cancer in February. Keep in mind that the CT showed a mass in her pelvic area. The docs are not really sure what type of cancer it is, but it presents as ovarian cancer. The abdominal fluid caused concern and her surgeon opted to start chemo before attemtping surgery. She has been…

My mom lost her battle with Ovarian cancer today.
My beloved mom, my hero, my best friend, died this morning. 11 months after she was diagnosed to the day. My family is fortunate that we were prepared for the death, better than a sudden death. I know she loved me very much, but my biggest fear is that she didn't know how much I loved her. That is tearing me apart inside,…

I have EYEBROWS!!!!
At last! And my hair is coming back in, as well, but it's really short and patchy. But my eyebrows are totally back to normal. I might even have to shape them soon! My eyelashes are reappearing, but more slowly. I can wear mascara, though. When my hair first started re-growing, it had no color, I swear. Not gray, or even…

3 Clear CT Scans during chemo, 2 months later they found small leasions in lower pelvic, but CA 125
This is so hard, just when my hair was growing back, my CA 125 went from almost 6,000 down to 26. I had two clear CT scans, no evidence of disease, but now, just 8 weeks after I completed chemo, CT scan two weeks ago shows small leasions in lower pelvic area. I don't understand how the disease could be growing back and my…

PPC stage IVB--first chemo/Neulasta treatments--not feeling well--what to eat
My sister had her first chemo, carbo/taxol, on Wednesday, then Neulasta on Thursday. She felt fine until Friday at noon (except for increasing hot flashes and chills)--then she took a nosedive. She has had some bone pain and a general feeling of malaise, but it's mostly the nausea that's getting to her, and the medication…

I asked my husband to keep a running blog of my ovarian, stage 4 cancer treatment. I told him to hold nothing back and tell it like it is.
