I guess I am platinum resistant. I wonder what lies ahead. I sure was hoping it could have lasted longer til I had to start this crap…

PPC stage IVB--first chemo/Neulasta treatments--not feeling well--what to eat
My sister had her first chemo, carbo/taxol, on Wednesday, then Neulasta on Thursday. She felt fine until Friday at noon (except for increasing hot flashes and chills)--then she took a nosedive. She has had some bone pain and a general feeling of malaise, but it's mostly the nausea that's getting to her, and the medication…

When she gets back she will sit down with her doctor and they will talk about what she can try next. The Taxol did not work and her…

Hey everyone! My mother was diagnosed stage 4 OC back in 2009, her CA 125 numbers went down from 2300 to around the 40s. Her last round of chemo didn't really work, now she's trying something new. In my opinion, she's doing GREAT! She's never stopped working, she looks beautiful and staying positive. She's also NEVER had…

Hello All. I am currently dealing with breast cancer and a reoccurance of thryoid cancer. It showed a large mass near my ovary...they said it could be an ovarian cyst,…

Our cancer "ordeal" blog
I asked my husband to keep a running blog of my ovarian, stage 4 cancer treatment. I told him to hold nothing back and tell it like it is. I am hoping that it will help someone about to start the treatment process to know what to expect, and maybe learn some things sooner than we did. Good luck to everyone out there and…

question on weird possible Gemzar side effect
Hello, I'm a regular on the colorectal board & I have stage IV colorectal cancer. I'm on the ovarian cancer board now, though, because I know that several of you may be on or have been on Gemzar (gemcitabine). I am in the unusual position of having "used up" all the chemos for colorectal cancer and I am now on a combo of…

Okay this is the weirdest question that I ever had to ask but has anyone else started seeing things after starting chemo. Mostly just bugs on me and things moving. It's really freaking me out. I think that I am actually going mental. I am in no test trials or anything like that. Just carbo/taxol. Any kind of info or…

Mom did 7 infusions of carbo/taxol and got her ca125 down to 89. She had the PET/Ct scan that showed no cancer. But her CA went up to 160 and now gyn/onc wants to try Gemzar. Mom got such bad neuropathy in her feet that she can barely walk. Has to use a walker or wheelchair to get around. She's started to do physical…

Hi Loves, I've been away from the board for the last two weeks with extreme fatique from my last carbo/gemzar and gemzar cycle. Hot tub
Hey guys. I was reading an old post that it was not healthy to get in a hot tub unless it is obviously clean. I would like to know the health risks and, if any, benefits of a hot tub while I am going through chemo. Everything hurts so bad and I don't know what else to do. They gave me 500mg hydrocodone for pain but it does…

Opened the 1st of my 'posthumous' birthday cards to my grandkids today! :D
When I had my 1st recurrence, back in November of 2009, I read the survival statistics of my rare aggressive uterine cancer, and got my affairs in order. I felt I needed to have all the loose ends tied up so I could concentrate on LIVING for the time I had left. A part of those 'preparations' was to write out birthday and…
