We're jumping on the juicing bandwagon!
Last week our car radiator took a dump along with my computer which we just got back up and running, so I've been out of touch here a bit. Jim couldn't get his treatment last Monday because his WBC was low. 1.4 Then he started running a temp mostly at night even as high as 102. They finally put him on an antibiotic and the…

UPDATE on John23
I got an email from John the other day, he asked me to pass it along: "I had to go to the ER on Feb 28 due to severe dehydration. I've been in here since then, because no matter how much they pump in, I fall back into dehydration as soon as they take away the IV. I seriously don't know what's going to happen next, and they…

Melatonin
Well many on this board all liked the Turmeric so much, you may wish to Google Melatonin. I took this years ago for sleep when I was traveling a lot but more recent studies have found some very positive effects, including it increasing the efficacy of both Chemo & Rads for cancer patients. I recently added it to my list of…

News on Kerry
I had a long talk this morning with the "scary old woman" this morning about Kerry. He's still in rehab and doing good. He did have a episode of where he snuck out for a smoke and crashed his wheel chair. "That sounds like him" So now he no longer tries to sneak off since that last try. He's eating like a half starved…

Colonoscopy discussion on the Breast Cancer forum
As I wait in the women's wellness center for my breast biopsy I saw this on the breast cancer board: http://csn.cancer.org/node/213133 "I've only had 1 colonoscopy (Feb 4, 2011) and there is no way that I will EVER do another one (well short of a life and death situation) again! (The only reason it was done was that my PA…

Regis and Kelly
Anyone see the show this morning. Regis had a colonoscopy. Kelly just made fun of the procedure, laughing and saying it is the new way for brides to lose weight. Not much gets under my skin but her comments this morning really did. So, instead of just sitting here I sent the show a comment and threw in it was Colon Cancer…

Hey gang, I've been doing some searching around, but I have to admit, I have Chemo brain this week, so my focusing powers aren't the best. Questions so we can make informed decisions re stopping chemo
So, I have mentioned, time and again, that Jack is saying he is quiting chemo. But for some reason, it's hitting me that he really really means it this time. The pain in his arms and legs, the over all malaise.. 3 or 4 folfox, 2 5fu, 4 more to go of 5fu Jack says will ask Onc to do a scan, or he willhave another scope to…

To chemo or not to chemo
At Graci's suggestion, I am reposting this as a separate topic: I was dx'd a little less than a year ago as stage IV due to "distant" lymph node involvement. 12 rounds of chemo, 6 weeks of radiation and one bright red colostomy later and I have no idea of how I am. I do know that my secondary oncologist at USC Norris has…

In memory of Pam
It saddens me to tell you that my Pammie passed away. Yet, I am also grateful that her pain is over. She has been in the Hospice wing of the Hospital since February 22nd. The nurses there took great care of her, bathing her, applying skin lotion and they even painted her fingernails. While she was able, she gave hugs to…
