skin sparing mastectomy
I had a skin sparing mastectomy with a tram flap. The Doctor told me after surgery that some breast tissue was left behind in order to support the graft. I would like to speak with anyone who has had this type of surgery. I need to talk. I am becoming increasingly worried that I made the wrong decision.

I have been looking for answers and thought I could get some feed back on someones experience. I finished my chemo treatment 1 year ago, at my regular follow up oncologist visit I am weighed, poked given a quick look over and sent on my way. I was under the impression I would have my pre-treatment test repeated to watch…

I opted for Tamoxifen, but now I'm thinking I should be more aggressive with treatment. Chemo+Tamoxifen=5%-10% chance of cancer reoccurene;Tamoxifen alone=10%-15%…

No Shame in Anti-depressants to Cope
It seems as though a lot of us are feeling down, even way down. I too "crashed" a few days ago. I told my doctor and she prescribed Zoloft immediately. This is already very helpful. I think with the diagnosis, the surgery, the doctor appointments, etc, etc,.. my head was spinning so fast that after 6 weeks post-surgery…

Hi Pat! I had four treatments of A/C followed by 12 weekly treatments of Taxotere (participated in a study). I lost all of my hair after my first tx of A/C just as the doctor predicted. My hair was very thick and after four days of handfuls coming out I shaved my head. It started to come back by the time I started the…

Chemobrain
I tried to post this yesterday, but it never got posted. I was dx in late 2000, treated in 2002. Ever since I had chemo, I have been having some real problems with short-term memory and concentration. It has impacted my productivity at work, and it has interfered with my ability to write (I'm a published novelist). I'm…

positive result with Faslodex for second-line treatment
I would like to share my mother's very positive experience with Faslodex to treat metastasized breast cancer. This cancer has spread to chest wall, bones and liver. She has been through every available oral medication and all have stopped working. She is 83, relatively frail and probably not a good chemotherapy candidate.…

My friend's been diagnosed with lymthnode cancer 7 months ago, has gone a few chemos (I don't know how many and what type of drugs were used? all I know there were about 4 different types) I suggested a very striced diet to boost the immune system (tured out that the doctors hadn't tell her anything about diet). Is this what they call "thinning"?
I had 4 rounds of CMF and just completed round 7 or 12 weekly taxotere treatments. I didn't have hair thinning on CMF but about a week ago my hair started coming out heavily in strands (not clumps). Every time I brush it hundreds of hairs fall to the bathroom floor and when I run my fingers through it, I come up with more…

Chemo after Mastectomy
My chemo therapy oncologist is talking about starting my last two rounds of chemo therapy soon...2 weeks after my mastectomy. (I had 4 rounds of A/C before the mastectomy.) I don't know why, but I was kinda surprised to be going back into chemo so soon. Did anyone else have this kind of timeline on their treatment?
