Stress & Breast Cancer
As we all know, research has many reasons for breast cancer, but to pinpoint the cause is yet to be known. I want each of you to think back to when you first learned you had breast cancer. 2 to 3 years leading up to that moment, can you recall if you had been under a tremendous amount of stress during those years…

Need a prayer
I am a 10 year breast cancer survivor. Last year my husband and I left our secure 30 year jobs to start Kaylone, a company devoted to the eradication of breast cancer. We need prayers - for financial support for our start-up company and for qualified people to help us run it. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Donna

I have recently been diagnosed with LCIS and atypical lobular hyperplasia. I've had an excisional biopsy of the site and at this point, they have not found any invasive cancer. I have lots of questions about risk. I've seen between 20% and 83% stated as my lifetime risk for developing invasive cancer and I'm considering…

cellulitis revisited
I finished my week of antibiotics with no improvement in the cellulitis near my lymph node incision. The surgeon considered a biopsy, but decided to let me try 10 days of another med. It that doesn't completely take care of it, then we'll biopsy to rule out a reocurrance. I'm stretching to try to maintain my range of…

Emotions&arimidex&tamoxofin
I have been a breast cancer survivor for 1-1/2 years now. I had a lumpectomy, radiation, and was placed on tamoxofin. I am 58 years old, had a complete hysterectomy when I was 39, so the combination of being suddenly taken off estrogen, plus taking tamoxofin threw me into a hot-flash tailspin. I was given medication to…

Primary Caseworker?
Since I was diagnosed in early Nov 2002 (IIIa), it seems like my 3 doctors (chemo therapy oncologist, surgeon, radiation oncologist) have not told me much about the progression of my treatment. Could anybody tell me if this is because they are deciding what to do on a case-by-case basis, according to my response to each…

skin sparing mastectomy
I had a skin sparing mastectomy with a tram flap. The Doctor told me after surgery that some breast tissue was left behind in order to support the graft. I would like to speak with anyone who has had this type of surgery. I need to talk. I am becoming increasingly worried that I made the wrong decision.

No Shame in Anti-depressants to Cope
It seems as though a lot of us are feeling down, even way down. I too "crashed" a few days ago. I told my doctor and she prescribed Zoloft immediately. This is already very helpful. I think with the diagnosis, the surgery, the doctor appointments, etc, etc,.. my head was spinning so fast that after 6 weeks post-surgery…

Chemobrain
I tried to post this yesterday, but it never got posted. I was dx in late 2000, treated in 2002. It has impacted my productivity at work, and it has interfered with my ability to write (I'm a published novelist). I'm…
