A question about Curcumin use before treatment other therapies
hi, thanks in advance of your answers. Curcumin is said to be a great supplement. Is it better to take it before or after chemo and other therapies? Does Curcumin help to reduce the blood supply to the tumor or cancer? If so would u not want to take it until after therapy is complete so the treatments can reach the areas…

In summary, she was diagonosed with uterine cancer, had the robotic surgery, staged 1A or 1B (not quite sure) but what they said was that it was contained to the uterus with less than 50 percent into the wall of uterus. All nodes tested were negatvie…

Shocking news
Hello. My sister was diagnosed at the begining of this year with Uterine cancer. Prior to surgery, her CT scans were negative for masses anywhere else. She had the surgery robotically, she was staged 1A I believe, or maybe it was 1B. The cancer was contained to uterus, into the wall, but less than 50 percent. Nodes were…

Recurring Uterine Cancer found on Peritoneum
My wife (59yo) had a radical hysterectomy last year because of stage 4 Uterine cancer. Toxlin-Carboplatin followed by radiation. Her CA125 showed no cancer for about 6 months after Radiation was completed. Then it went up. CT Scan showed small cluster of spots on Peritoneum, near Liver. Started Doxil today. They actually…

All The Single Ladies
This is kind of a weird question/topic but... as a single woman, divorced for many years, I have always been very independent and self-sufficient. As I continue my cancer journey, it has become apparent that I cannot do everything on my own anymore and I do need to ask for help. I have a great network of friends and family…

So (Not) Nice to Meet You
Hello to you all Seems like this club is the obvious example of Groucho Marx's saying about not wanting to belong to a club that will accept me as a member. I wish the universe would accept my resignation, but as that is not going to happen, I will introduce myself. I'm Maddy, 53, diagnosed with uterine cancer in July.…

I need to ask. Is it the treatments we go through to live causing more deaths then the cancer itself
Most times when I hear people passing on from cancer, it's actually the treatment, chemo, radiation, complications from surgeries that caused their death before the actual cancer. I'm going for my first follow up check with my oncolagest on Tuesday. I've been putting it off because I don't want to keep checking for cancer.…

Official Chemosabe
First chemo session under my belt. It was a long day. Got there at 10:30, left at 5:15. Everything went well, no allergic reaction to the carbo or taxol, which they infused at a slow rate. Started and finished my book (HeLa). I felt pretty normal last night so I walked around the block, had some soup and a popsicle and…

Rough Day
Ladies, I had a bit of a rough day today and need some of your positive juices. I had an ultrasound on Wednesday and the results show mets have taken residence in my liver. I'm about 2 months short of 4 years since DX [10/2011], and today was chemo #35. I know I've got a lot to be thankful for. At chemo, I met a lovely…

Members That Posted and Went?
I was reading a very interesting thread, you've probably guessed I'm new here, from lindaprocopio It referred to a CA125 of 154, after remission, but her profile says she last posted in 2011 and this thread was from 2009, I am really interested by her story as there were some similarities to mine, can anyone throw some…

I have had severe tail bone, lower back right ovary groin and leg pain. I have had bleeding when I have sex with my husband, periods have been so odd and I usually…

Have you ever heard of research cells called HeLa?
I am an avid reader of just about anything- novels, classics, biographies, research papers on uterine CA, etc. , but I have never read anything as bizarre, unbelievable, historic or as profoundly relevant as the true story of a woman called Henrietta Lacks. This woman has done more for the treatment of cancer, as well as…

Port - Post Surgery Pain
Hi All, Got my port in yesterday. I wasn't expecting pain afterwards. Silly me! I'm using ice packs as suggested and taking Advil. My pain is in strange places... like behind my shoulder blade and behind my bicep muscle. In addition to the actual port site. Did any of you experience this? Also, I get my first chemo this…

Treatment Plan Radiation and Chemo Concurrently, Stage 1A, Grade 2
Hi All, Been a few weeks since I posted. My oncologist wants to do radiation and chemo at the same time. Is this normal? I worry my constitution won't hold up for both simultaneously. Let me know how you did it please? Was it as the same time or one at a time. What works best. I believe perhaps a lymph node may be affected…
