Good morning
Good morning everyone, I myself am not a cancer survivor, my grandmother, she is more like my mother she raised me is currently battling this terrible disease, she is 87 years young but you would never know it she was still working up till last year, and she is pretty smartphone and computer savy. She will be 88 later this month, I am posting because I will be registering her for an account for this later and since she is going through chemo and she definitley would like some support not just, from her family but from others who are going through this and have similar experiences. Also in case she has any questions on going about using this board, I wanted to see if anyone might be able to help her navigate it, aside from myself. Her name is Shirley and I will share her user name once I register her.I hope you ladies, don't mind that I have joined I just really want to help her get all the support that she can. Thank you.

You are most welcome
Sorry that you and your grandmother have to come here, but you are both very welcome. This is a good place to come for encouragement and information. There are many post from ladies going through chemo that might be good and helpful to read. The ladies here have are compassionate and knowledgeable. I wish I had found this place when I was just starting out. Hugs and prayers for you and your grandmother, Lou Ann

Thank you so much lou ann. I know there are so many questions she has about her chemo, and side effects that I am unable to answer. I am so happy to have found this. thank you for your kind words. I am grateful to have a place that she can share and learn and I can learn. It has been very difficult because since chemo she has not been able to really go anywhere but the doctor, or talk to anyone going through the same thing since she has been so prone to infection. Thank you so much again for the warm welcome.

Send Shirley to us ASAP. We are waiting to greet her. As Lou Ann said, I wish I had found this site earlier. I would have had so many more questions to ask my doc and I would have been so much better prepared for chemo.

Welcome, Kerri and your
Welcome, Kerri and your grandma, Shirley. I had a grandma like her - she probably could have roofed a house at 80. When she was 93 she told me she had a bladder infection and was going to refuse to have it treated - her friends were all gone and her bones were getting so brittle soon she wouldn't be able to walk. Within two months, she was gone, but she had a great life. Anything I can do to help Grandma Shirley, I will!
Love,
Eldri

I'm still here and intend to be for a VERY long time. NO questions are stupid, out of bounds, or too graphic(TMI) for us! Even venting, spouces, money, testings, kids or fiance are incouraged! There will be someone here who can help. Just let us know what you need, give us as much information as you two are comfortable with and we'll all figure it out! Best, Debra(Jo)
