Frequency of CT scans or PET scans after treatment
What information have any of you had with how often CT or PET scans should be done once you complete treatment. Every six months? yearly? I suppose we have varying opinions on that too! Diane

He has my head spinning with new information, as he has decades of experience working with UPSC. I could hardly wait to get back and post to run all this by you and get your feedback. First…

Even though I believe I…

Heart Problems
Have any of you had problems with both your heart and trying to fight uterine cancer? My sister Cindy (60) has left ventricle dysfunction (the part of the heart that sends out the oxygen rich blood) and her stage 1b, grade 2 cancer has returned to the vaginal cuff and possible the right hip area (lymph nodes, still the…

Chemo-Brachy-Chemo Question
Anyone who has had 3 (or so) rounds of chemo, then vaginal brachytherapy, then 3 (or so) more rounds of chemo - when in relation to the brachytherapy did the chemo begin again? A day or two after the last brachy? A week or more? During the brachy? I am getting ready to schedule the post-brachy chemo and want to be in the…

Should I take comfort in some of the test results so far
I was diagnosed in Feb.09, had a Radical Hysterectomy, one node tested positve, Adenocarcinoma Stage IIIC, grade 2, 6 rounds of chemo, doing external radiation now (25), will start brachytherapy once this radiation is done. My CA 125 levels started at 75, right before chemo and at my last chemo were 7. I had a cat scan for…

Post Radiation Pain
I've had 37 radiation treatments. They ended in late May. By June I was experiencing lower back pain. My oncologist said it was not from radiation. Now the pain has gone to my hips and down my legs. I feel so weak - and often the pain makes me nauseous. Has anyone else experienced this kind of pain from radiation? I was…

Uterine Cancer Returned after only 3 months
My sister, age 60, was diagnosed with very low grade stage 1B endometrioid adenocarcinomas. Robotic surgery was performed with total hysterectomy (everything removed) and 30 lymph nodes taken and a wash (flush). Only cancer found was in the interior of the uterus. In May she started spotting (vaginally) and waited until…

Took claritin before Neulasta shot and had much less bone pain
I read in a couple of places that taking claritin before and after the shot redices the amount of bone pain. I took Claritin Monday and Tuesday. I got my Neulasta shot on Wednesday, and continued the claritin through the next Tuesday. When I got my last Neulasta shot the bone pain started Sunday evening and went through…

6 month follow up with radiation oncologist
Passed my 6 month follow up with the radiation oncologist with flying colors! Yea! He also had the results of the 2nd lymph node biopsy that I had last week. The results are still inconclusive, but no cancer cells were seen. The first biopsy included liver tissue, this one included pancreatic tissue and both were cancer…

Post-radiation initial follow-up appt. today : "So far, so good".
My chemo oncologist and my radiation oncologists couldn't be more different. My chemo oncologist is always laughing and optimistic and called me on Sunday to shout out the NED results from Friday's CT-scan. But my radiation oncologist is soooo much more sedate. His response to my NED CT-scan and check-up today was a…

My name is Sally Gray. I am 64 years old and live in Wichita with my husband of more than 40 years. I have 2 children and (finally) a grandchild due in late November. Adventures with Clairol: coloring my chemo peach fuzz AGAIN!
I know they say not to color your new hair after chemo. I had my last chemo March 26th and although I LOVE having hair again after 7 long months of baldness, I hated the iron-grey color of my new crewcut of fuzzy baby hair. So, about a month ago, I got that "root touch up" hair coloring they've been advertising on TV. You…

Three Month Check-ups
For about 2 - 3 weeks before my 3-month check I become so tnese that I have physical symptoms that make me think I have cancer again in another place. Example: this time I am having a funny sensation in my throat that feels like a blockage. I can't determine if it is real or just conjured up because of my fear of it…

Just back from my post-treatment CT-Scan, belly still churning from the barium
My CT-scan went soooo well! My DIL came in to work early to do my scan herself, and got the IV needle in on her very first try! (In June when I had my 'positioning' CT-scan for radiation simulation, 2 different people tried to get into a vein unsuccessfully before they called in the hospital's special 'IV Team' to get a…

Had chemo number 6 Yeah!
Time to celebrate the treatments are over for now. I had chemo number 6 on Tuesday and it was an uneventful treatment. Unfortunately my port did not work for drawing blood, so they had to stick my arm anyway. But they were able to get enough blood back to verify the placement and could use the port for the chemo. My blood…

Got my 'post-treatment' TESTS schedule; my 'no doctoring' break is about over.
I finished the last treatment of my initial chemo/radiation treatment protocol July 1st and have been sooooooo enjoying this 'no doctoring' break. Just for a little while, I've allowed myself to think that I am cured and cancer-free, and I have been very busy and happy this past month, picking up my life where I left off a…
