The cancer was diagnosed as Stage 2 Endometrial cancer. The pelvic wash was clear and the lymph nodes were negative for cancer. Due to her age 79…

It was interesting visit to the Oncologist today and explained to me what my plans are for the treatments. I find that having port is more convenient to use…

Anyone have reaction to Aloxi?
For my fourth pre-chemo I got Aloxi for nausea instead of Zofran. The doctor says it lasts for 3 days, so it would have longer effect on the nausea. I had the pre-chemo on Wednesday morning. On Sunday when I was working outside I began to huge white spots in front of my eyes. My husband was with me, so he drove me home. I…

Did anyone see the new drug on TV last night for breast and ovary?
Last night on national news they presented a new drug; it is a pill and is doing a fabulous job in killing cancer cells in breast and ovarian cancer. Women who were down in bed with metastasis are back to work! The pill was orange but I didn't get the name of it. Very few side effects. If it works with ovarian I bet it…

Advice RE Chemo Treatment and Patients with Dementia?
Hello. My aunt was recently diagnosed with Uterine cancer, stage 3a. The Dr. says chemo is the next step in treatment, but as my aunt also has Lewy Body or AD dementia, I’m concerned about her getting the right treatment from a holistic approach. Any advice or information about chemo and dementia would be much appreciated!…

Henna Tattoos (on bald head), so why not henna HAIR COLORING post-chemo??
I see great photos of brave bald women with temporary henna tattoos on their bald heads, and I know henna tattoos are often done even when still in chemo. Sooooo, I'm thinking, why wouldn't henna be a safe hair coloring choice for my post-chemo peach fuzz? Way way back when I was in my 20's I used henna on my hair all the…

I read that chemo can damage the heart and it can take months for it to show up. The receptionist didn't hestitate when I had told her what was…

REJOICE (SP)
Aloha All...knew I could count on you to send good wishes and support; the news was "GOOD" but not before I had a most horrible scare; it seems the resident who speaks with me before I see the dr misunderstood when I asked her what my CA 125 was; she replied 25 which flipped me out; 25 was up from 11 three months ago; of…

Hormone Replacement Therapy
I know that it is not recommended for us to take traditional hormone replacement like estrogen, but have any of you heard anything about androgen or testosterone replacement? I am trying to research it a little, but doesn't look like it's been done long. Not much long term data. The reason I started looking was that I read…

Hello! Here is my picture. It took me along time to get it together because I had a reaction to taxol but with my great Gyn/Onc and hard work she figured out the right combination of supportive drugs so I could continue recommended doses. The oncologist gave me a copy of the CT scan which shows a left lower lobe pulmonary nodule which had increased in size since January. I…

Aranesp
Thanks for your input. I don't want to frighten anyone about these drugs. I had breast cancer ten years ago and took lots of procrit and have done great with the breast cancer. I just thought some of the new information is confusing. My past experience with procrit and aranesp has been very positive. I am just trying to be…

Radiation is scaring me to craziness
I have a fear of heights and when I receive radiation it is on a table high up. I know I am fine on the table, but my mind starts worrying about falling off if the table moves too fast or if the radiation machine malfunctions and hits me. I have been cooperating with the two technicians who do the radiation but when they…

Had 4th chemo yesterday
4 down two to go. It was an uneventful day for which I am thankful. It was my first visit to this infusion center and I was very impressed with it. It is much smaller than the one we went to in Tampa. Much more personal touch here. We got there at 8:00 and walked out at 4:30. No reactions this time. This place has four…

Book Recommendation
My mother has a friend who was recently diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. She wanted my mother to tell me about a book she received from a family member. It is called "No Place Like Hope" by Vickie Girard. I have read about 3/4 of it so far and wish I would have found it months ago. Just wanted to share.
