Freeing experience
I asked for help from you ladies about taking off my "cancer sucks" wristband and your responses helped me decide it was time. I told my cousin I wanted to do it on Christmas day when most of the people who were wearing their bands would be at my house. I told my cousin I didn't want to just throw them away because I am…

Just a question
I hope you ladies won't think I am too silly but I wanted to ask for your thoughts about something. Who better to ask? I have been wearing my teal "cancer sucks" bracelet as well as a yellow Livestrong bracelet (a friend gave me) since shortly after I was diagnosed in March of 2010. I have been NED since fall of 2010 and I…

Am I becoming Rip Van Winkle?
Ladies, I can not believe how much I am sleeping! I finished my first line chemo in late Oct. I am now on Avaistan for maintenance. I am sleeping several hours at night, plus often times a two hour nap during the day. Dr. says I am in complete remission at this time. I lost my husband last April (2010). I"m wondering if my…

CA125 nadir after successful recurrence treatment compared with that at the conclusion of the succes
Those of you who have recurred and then went into remission, was your CA125 at the end of the successful recurrence treatment lower, higher, or about the same as it was when you first went into remission? More broadly, if you had multiple remissions, do the CA125 nadir value after each successful treatment vary?

My mom can't eat or drink anything
My mom's doctor told us that there are no more options for her. Basically he has given her the talk and offered hospice as an option. She did a test and found that the tumor appears to be blocking her intestine......as a result, anything she eats (which is nothing) or drinks comes out after 15 mins. She lost about 10…

CERVICAL CANCER?
I was going to post on 'gynecological' cancer forum, but wanted to consult you ladies first. My daugther, 25 years old, had an 'abnormal' pap smear. She will go for a colposcopy this Tuesday to biopsy the cervical tissue. This was discovered during her routine yearly check-up on December 1. Anyone out there have a similar…

Cytoxin
I was wondering if anyone has been on Cytoxin? My last ca-125 jumped from 146 to 2000 before starting avastin every three weeks and taking a daily cytoxin pill. I had a biopsy on my liver to make sure recurrence was not breast cancer related (had a lumpectomy in 2008). The last appointment I had last week revealed it is…

CT Results
Got the results of my last CA125 and my CT scan. I was not sure if I wanted to know before Christmas or not but was glad the dr. called. My CA125 went from 410 to 371. She still thinks it is not accurate due to my last bowel obstruction but the fact that it went down is good news. The scan showed the disease to be stable…

platlets are down
to 74,000 DR is not all that concerned right now. All other blood work is good. Question-is there anything I can do to increase it? I'm on topo and will be having another treatment the first of Jan. Should I be worried? seems like there is always something new to worry about. Thanks Kathy

topo not working......christ I am in pieces
I am in bits. I missed the chance to go and see the consultant today. I then received a phone call from my sister saying that basically we are at the end of the road with mum , and that they would now only offer palliative care. My god , I new this was in the post but , but hearing it for real is sick. I cannot believe…

Do CA125 numbers bounce around?
Was diagnosed a level IIIc in mid-June of this year. After making it through 6 rounds of taxol and cisplatin ip and iv the end of October, I'm just beginning to reach out and ask questions. It was just about asking enough questions to figure out how to survive the operation and chemo and lung drains before. Now I'm looking…

GREAT NEWS TO SHARE!
I had CT's and Petscan last week! All scans were clean!! Dr. says I am in remission! Avistan has been reduced to every 3 weeks rather than every 2 weeks, for one year rather than two years, and the dosage has been cut in half. He said that is based upon latest research. Last CA-125 (early November was at 9) Great Christmas…
