Am I becoming Rip Van Winkle?
I lost my husband last April (2010). I"m wondering if my body is just exhausted both physically and mentally? I guess this is nature's way of allowing us to heal?
Of course, we have all been poisoned by the chemo.
I guess I'm just kind of concerned about sleeping so much. Most days I feel great. I do what I want to do.
Thanks Ladies,
Carla

Your body knows
what it needs. I sometimes think that even those of us going through this have no real idea of the toll it is taking on our body. I was told by someone that the chemo in an effort to kill the cancer comes very close to killing the person. I repeated this to my gyn/onc and he nodded that's true. So take the rest you need and in time it will probably take less rest to get through the day. My best to you.

Thanks Karen. My body is just exhausted both physically and emotionally. My husband's unexpected death last year has really taken its toll on me. I just lost my Mom in Feb. '08. I'm 49 but some days I feel much older than that!0 -
Carla don't worry
Carla take it when you can get it. I too was worried that I was sleeping way too much. I would sleep at night and only get up to use the restroom and go back to bed for quite a bit. I would then take a nap maybe about 2 hours in the afternoon. You body needs that rest to get back to the new normal. I finished my chemo last Feb. and was still napping through the summer. When it go to be longer and longer I then sought some help for my depression. I saw a counselor and she helped me a lot. If you lost your husband you may need to have some counseling to help sort everything out. You have not been out of treatment very long and then all the holidays. Try to take it easy and work on healing. Hugs Sharon0
