But I don't feel sick...
I was very sick before I had my surgery in May. I've tolerated the chemo well overall (I've had 3 treatments). Anyway, some family members will say "you're sick." I don't feel sick! I'm up and about, feeling better than I have in several months. I know they mean well, and are just concerned, but I don't feel fragile! :)…

Did anyone hear
Did anyone hear about the 17 year old who had a breakthrough with research toward killing cancer cells without killing normal cells. It is optimistic but it will still take some years to perfect. It is interesting to read about though. Just thought I would mention it in case someone wanted to google it . Always like to…

Why do people think it's done and over with once we achieve remission?
People act as though now that I am in remission that everything is behind me. For crying out loud, it's not even been two yrs. since my husband died (will be in April). I was diagnosed in May, 2011. My husband was a minister, so we did own our own house. We were living in one owned by the church at the time of his…

Kidney failure

Her kidneys are failing so she can do no more chemo til her kidneys recover. She has a colostomy bag installed and has not been eating enough to maintain her weight. Lately her food she does eat has…

I had 6 carbo/taxol treatments and had very few side effects. My last chemo was 12/21/11 and I am having more and more of these "hot…

Wading through the WWW
When I was diagnosed with cancer, I asked the doctor for the "cancer's" name. It was not something she disclosed and she was walking out when I asked the question. She told me the name. Telling her I was going to research it, I wrote it down. She said do not believe everything you read out on the web. I have heard that and…

How to ask for help
I am 45 years old, married, with a 15 year old daughter. I was diagnosed in april of 2008, got about a year and a half of remission, and have been fighting this reoccurrence since then. Been on clinical trials, carbo/taxol, Gemzar, now Topotecan, which doesn't seem to be working--we are waiting a ca 125 from last week to…

Good Diet thoughts
Although my diet is reasonbly good I am still looking for more info about what I should be adding to my diet. I have heard that sugar and carbs should be eliminated as much as possible from the diet but when I've asked this question to the so called experts they have said that sugar and carbs are not feeding the cancer.…

neuropathy
I've done 5 treatments of weekly taxol and the neuropathy has gotten very bad. My hands, feet, and calves feel like they are on fire with tingles. Nothing helps. At what point does the treatment become worse than the disease? I don't know if I can continue with the taxol but I'm scared to stop it. I have cried every day…

My ca 125 numbers are going up while on topo
I'm on my 7th treament of topotecan and while in the beginning they went down very slow from 320 to 316, they now have climbed to 464. Dr will do another ca125 in a couple of weeks and discus another option for me. I have been on chemo 18 months straight without a break. This is my first recurence and have been on numerous…

what's been happening with me
Hi haven't been on in a while. Had some problems and have been on Alimta now going into my 3rd cycle. Been really hard on my blood counts and had to get a blood transfusion recently so my 3rd chemo was put on hold. Hopefully, my counts will have gone back up. I had a partial bowel obstruction a few months ago because I…

Hernia
I had my surgery dec5th. I have noticed over the weekend an egg-sized palpable hard area in the middle of my incision. It is just slightly painful when I stand up. Could this be a hernia? Does anyone have hernia experience?

A little new year's humor.....
As we progress into the year 2012, I want to thank all of you for your educational e-mails over the past year 2011. I am totally screwed up now and have little chance of recovery. I no longer open a bathroom door without using a paper towel, or have the waitress put lemon slices in my ice water without worrying about the…

Hi my name is Kim and I'm looking to connect with other ovarian cancer folks. I'm 33 and was diagnosed Nov 20. My whole story, it is rather long: I moved to thailand in Jan of 2009. Fork in the road
My sister had debulking ( stage 3c) 6 rounds of Taxol/Cisplatin/avastin IP and IV. Her OVCA was still there. CA 125 was down to 90's at the end of that. She then had IP port removed. IV taxol now for about 4 rounds along with Avastin. CT scan last week I guess shows some Nodules on the lung. A breast biopsy tested positive…

I have recently found out that I am BRCA 2 positive and the Dr has suggested that I have a double mastectomy. After weighing the pros and cons and…

Sometimes family does not really understand
When my son and I were talking the other day he informed me that he doesn't think it is a good idea for me to continue coming to this board. He says now that I am "good" it can only bring me down to read about others who are still in the battle or lose the fight. I tried to explain that we share everything on this board;…

Halfway thru vaccine trial
I get my 5th out of 10 vaccine doses today. I am getting the vaccine trial CAN-003. (CVAC) So far I have had no problems with it. They tell me they are pleased with what they have seen so far and are opening a new phase soon. It is given different places around the US and Austrailia. Just thought some of you might be…

Back to chemo next week
after my wonderful and rejuvenating holiday break. It's 2 years this month since I went back on chemo (3C/May 2006 with 3 years remission). My feeling strong time was spent making cookies and candy, sewing up doll clothes, and spending lots of silly time with my granddaughters, kids, husband and friends. I drank lots of…

Wandering mind!!
Hi everyone, It has been a while since I have posted on this board. It will be 4 years since my stage 3B diagnosis on January 7th, 2012. I just had a stay in the hospital with some abdominal pain and of course they did a CT. I ended up with pancreatitis. My Ca-125 was 11, but the CT showed two soft tissue "nodules" in my…
