I would love to hear the do's and don'ts of Doxil. I work everyday and I love to work outside, the hand-foot syndrome scares me. If you get it how long does it…

Need Advice for a Friend
A good friend of mine was just diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She has very good support from her friends and family. I am one of those friends and need input as to what I can do to cheer her up. I thought of small fruit baskets because I know good foods are important, but I would like advice from people who have had…

Sharing good news..
Very good news yesterday from my onc, and interventional radiologist and onc nurse and nuclear radiologist (who were all on at one time, was I overwhelmed). Last Thursday's PET shows no cancer, and my CA125 is 6.0. Life is good all praise to God. Through these last four years, with four major surgeries, almost two years…

A simple question
Hi all, I hope all are well this week. I wanted to know if yellow skin and dark circles around the eye is common among cancer patients. My Mom's liver has just been checked and found to be o.k. but I see pronounced dark circles and I was just wondering if this has to do anything with this condition. Liz

PAP TEST RESULTS
Just received a copy of my pap test results. It reads 'Unsatisfactory for evaluation: obscuring inflammatory exxudate'. Anyone ever receive a report like this? To recap, I had a tremendous amount of discomfort during the pelvic/rectal exam and pap test - much more than normal. I had horrible pain and cramps all night,…

THANK YOU!
My heartfelt thanks to all of you for putting this into perspective. Although I found some positive 'snippets' in the outcome of my visit, all of you gave me so many more that they far outweigh the negative. I certainly am looking forward to my daughter's wedding (regardless of all the hard work it requires!), as all of…

Sad Day Thoughts and Prayers
Yesterday, my beautiful mother; Sandra Goodman - age 70, from Enfield, CT passed away. At the age of 57 - she was given 1 year to live - with Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer. She fought a valiant, 14 year battle. Everyone that knew her, loved her. She always had a smile, no matter what. When she couldn't sleep at night, she would…

DR. APPOINTMENT
Well, I had my 8-hour doctor appointment yesterday. My CA125 went from 12 to 13 again - I suppose not a big jump, but would have preffered stable or down somewhat. He didn't detect anything on examination and, as I said before, nothing on the CT. He did say we could do a PET scan, but quite honestly it wouldn't show…

keeping it positive
My ca125 keeps going up and is the highest it's ever been. Scans are negative but I feel there must be microscopic disease for the numbers to be so high. Had second dose of Doxil and hoping this will start to bring the numbers back down. It's been a long time since I've had normal numbers or a break from chemo. Just…

update
Hi Everyone, just wanted you to know the Etoposide slowed the increase of my ca125 down. So I am staying on it another month. I wish it had decreased - but it only went from 68 to 80 and that is much better than 11 to 68. Hopefully it'll work another month. My Dr says he does have more on his list, including a Phase II…
