Welcome, Ohiogirl. Where abouts in Ohio? I was born and raised in Columbus, now live in Michigan.
I was diagnosed in 2000, stage 1C - had surgery, chemo. I had a recurrance in February of 2006 - had surgery and chemo. What stage for you? How about surgery and what type of chemo?
You will find many, many encouraging and inspiration testimonies here. You'll also find many caring and supportive individuals who will try to answer any questions you have. I hope you have a good, thorough doctor and that you take an active part in your health. That's really important.
Hoping to hear from you again soon!

Hey Ohio, First congratulations! A year that is awesome and the odds get way better for you when you've made a year remission. You know my story so I'm not going there, but my sister was stage 3c and just celebrated 6years cancer free. Lots of prayers that the one will turn to two and then three and on and on. You go girl!

Welcome Ohiogirl... I`ve gone some ups and very downs emotionally speaking with my Mom who is in remission for stage IIIB Ovca.. almost 10 months now.. she is 75 yo and surprises me every day with the peace and energy she shows.. a true example for many who complain about the weather, there headaches, the bills, you know everything. I know 10 months is not definitive nor have we won the battle but every day is a gift and a celebration of life and I have learned that that is how we all must live. So enjoy life and keep your faith up and believe in God. Liz0

Hello there. My first remission lasted 18 months and I was thrilled. Glad to hear you're into your 12th month. Hope it continues for you and you continue to do well.

Hi-I've been clear of any ovca for 4 1/2 years now, and plan to keep this status forever! One of the women in my support group was diagnosed with OVCA more than 13 years ago (stage unknown, but guessed at IIIc) before having a recurrence this past year.
I decided I spent too much time worrying about recurrence, so now I just don't. I've got too much other stuff to think about!0 -
just want to say thank you to everyone for their kind words and inspirational words..at this point i guess wondering when or if i will have a recurrence is kinda foolish..i have decided to just be thankful for each day and not worry about tomorrow I will leave tomorrow to God!! I live in the cinci/dayton area of ohio where we have had alot of snow so kinda homebound but when the weather gets better i will just go on about the business of LIVING each day to the fullest...again thank you - you are a great group of ladies and i pray you all have great success in your cancer battles and journey

Hey Ohio girl! I am from Columbus Ohio too. My Dr. is Luis Vaccarello. I was diagnosed with stage 111c in November of 2005 and it was back in February of 2007. I got 7 months before mine came back. I was on Carboplatin and Taxol. I am curious if the type of chemo makes a difference in the length of time we get. I would like to know about Doxil and it's helpfulness. If you want to talk drop me a line. And to the girls reading this I'de like to ask about Doxil,Topotecan and Gemzar...if anyone has used these and if they feel it was a good choice. I may have to pick one and I'm not sure of their side effects and effectiveness.0
