I go back the 12th of this month and I am going to ask some questions, but for now I am going to praise God and celebrate and thank you for all…

new research offers hope
I just read that MIT and New York's Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory are working on p53 gene. By activating this gene tumors shrink in some cases by 100%. While this study has only been done on mice, it offers hope for finding better ways to fight this disease. I am being treated at a cancer research center and they are…

Instead of being shell-shocked does anyone know…

OVARIAN CANCER TO LIVER
For those of you out there who have experienced ovarian cancer that spread to the liver, I have a few questions: 1. What stage of ovarian did you have? 2. What were the symptoms of liver cancer before it was confirmed? 3. What types of treatments have you or are you receiving for the liver cancer? My CA125 is rising and I…

MY CA125 IS RISING ALSO
Seems like many of us are dealing with this right now. Just to recap: I had levels of 10 all through chemo, went down to 9 after chemo, last month up to 12, this week up to 13. Pain? A little in the area where I had OVCA before (lower right pelvic area), even though pain was never indicative for me. It's always been the…

Carboplatin allergic reaction
Hello everyone. Yesterday when getting my carboplatin, I started having a sneezing fit, then felt my hands stinging, then noticed that my palms were bright red. The nurse got the doctor, and he had her start me on a Benadryl IV. He said if it happened again, I could never have carboplatin again. Has anyone else had this…

The Cure
Now that I have your attention: In this year of electing a president, all cancer survivors need to find the candidate who supports Cancer research-a-ie; stem cells, which could very well bring the cure to all cancer. Vote with your ovaries in mind.. The politics of cancer can kill you..of over 10,000 grants from the…

Hello to all my friends on the board. Tonight I have some sad news to share with all of you. Mom passed away on Friday morning at the age of 90. It was not the cancer that hurt her, it was simply being old and tired. Her heart just stopped. After all that she had gone through and conquered I though she might just live to…

CA125 WENT UP
Well, Bonnie and everyone, my level had gone down last month from 10 to 9, now it's up to 12. I know that's not much, but to me that's quite a jump considering I had been at 10 for 4 months then went to 9. Oh well, guess I'll TRY not to worry too much. I just lost a friend to ovarian cancer, so it will be hard not to let…

CA125 going up
I had a port flush and CA125 done this week. Unfortunately my ca125 has gone up. But the good news is 29 isn't a bad number. The Avastin had brought my markers down to 10 and we had hoped it would cause everything to stay quiet. My next appointment at the U is at the end of January. I have another port flush just before…
