LUNG NODULE
Hello, Ladies: Just want to get some feedback from all of you, although I know nothing is 100%. Just got my CT scan report. It mentions a 3mm nodule in the lower lobe of the left lung. And it says 'to repeat CT scan in 6 months'. It also says it's 'changed' since my 10/28/07 CT scan. I just pulled my report from then and…

new member
I just joined this network today, hoping I could connect with others who are going through similar treatment and concerns. I am a 7 year breast cancer survivor, and was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer this April. I just had the first round of 2 day chemo in Middletown NY. I was wondering if anyone in this network…

pain question
Ladies, I have a question about pain. Pain and Nausea are what sent me to the dr.in the first place and after I was daignosed with vag. wall cancer, the pain medicine the dr. gave me hydrocodone-apap 10-325 2 every 4 hours as needed worked for the most part. However, since I started radiation 2 days ago it really isn't…

Counselor
I was diagnosed fall last year. Had surgery and finished my last chemo at the end of April. I have been feeling pretty well physically, but my emotions have been haywire lately. I'm not one to take anti-depressants. I have been taking Ativan to help me sleep. Even it doesn't seem to be helping lately. I've been considering…

ginger for nausea
Hi everyone, I just heard a news report that stated that ginger caps (with real ginger) taken 3 days before chemo can bring down nausea. I have extreme nausea after cisplatin/gemzar for 4 days, throwing up every two hours. The steriods and anti-nausea don't seem to work and I have tried alternates for both of those. (One…

inflamed granulation tissue
Good morning ladies, In April I saw my GYN and he thought he saw abnormal tissue in my vagina, and was concerned it might be a spread of my OVCA. He took biopsies and thankfully the report came back as inflamed granulation tissue. Since then I've had a pinkish discharge, I'm seeing him next week and will discuss how he can…

New Diagnosis....fear is Overwhelming
I am looking for some help with how to overcome my gigantic fear of all of this. I was diagnosed May 2008 with endometerial cancer. My oncologist told me that a hysterectomy would be all that was necessary. So, though the diagnosis scared me, it was a relief that that would be the end of it. I have been having alot of…

It just shows how each one here is ready to go into battle for each other ~ and we all know how much prayer battle works. ♥ I am so grateful to be home. All of the tests aren't in but they really believe it is probably tumor fevers,…

Spread to lung?
Hi, I can't stop crying. The doctor finally called, and they are going to do a procedure to determine if the fluid on my lung could indicate the cancer has spread there. I can't even have the procedure until next Wednesday. We're supposed to go to my daughter's for supper tonight, but I'm not sure I can face my…

Short remission
Hi to all. Just wanted to let you know - after less than 6 months in remission, I'm back to CT scans and figuring out what to do next. Just before my last regular Dr.'s appointment, I began having symptoms, and well, you know that we're very good at knowing when "it" is back. My CA125 went from 40 to 70. I just had the CT…

Hi ladies, just got results of a molecular profiling done on my tumors. Please check out the Clearity Foundation for details if you are interested. Karen and Linn
Hi Ladies, I thought I'd start a new thread, it will be easier than zipping all the way down my no remission thread. Linn, I'm so sorry about your news regarding the lymph node, as you know I'm also staged 4 with lymph node involvement. Has your oncologist mentioned topotecan? I was on it for 10 months. Is he considering…

No remission after all
Hi ladies, I saw my oncologist this morning, and although he was pleased with the CT scan report, he said I'm not in remission, and the cancer is still active. He based this on my CA125 going up for the past three months. Obviously it was not what I wanted, or expected to hear and I was very disappointed. He gave 3…

New to this board and terrified
Hello! My family doctor had me take both a pelvic ultrasound and that led to a CT and Xray after that. She referred me to my gynecologist/oncologist who was my surgeon as well. I was told that I had a huge cyst that was pressing against all of my organs and my ribs. He told me that it was an 80% chance that is was not…

confused about makeup
Hi. Let me start with my story, trying to be brief. I'm 47 and was diagnosed in Oct. with OvCa stage III C. I went to urgent care with somewhat bad pains in left side, thinking possibly appendicitis. I've never been in the hospital and never even had a blood test. Had been thinking that should start going to have me blood…

ionized calcium
Good Afternoon Girls! My onc/gyn just called me with the results of several blood work tests. All was fairly normal (have not had CA125 yet, next month) except she said my ionized calcium is elevated and wanted to know if my bones ache. Well, yes! They have ached ever since chemo. She had ordered me a bone scan last…

Gemzar Not Working
Well, my ca 125 has jumped from 50 in March to 241 last week. I had four treatments of Gemzar and my counts kept going up. That was my 3rd line treatment so far. My Onc said that we will stop the Gemzar and do a PET scan. I never had one before only the ct scans. He said if there is a tumor that he is considering doing…

Finding the answer
Hello to all - The cause to the rise in my CA-125 level may be close to being found (I hope). I have an appointment with a urologist on Thursday. There is a spot on my bladder that is suspect, and there is possible invasion to my bladder. I will post when I know more. Love you all, Sue

I am feeling much better and have this to report: The loose bowels and huge amount of gas I had was due to lactose intolerance. BRCA 1 and Ovarian cancer
Hi- I posted on breast cancer discussion board too...not sure where this belongs! I am a 50 year old surviving 1 year from stage 4 ovarian cancer. Recently, I was tested for the BRCA 1 & 2 gene. I am positive for BRCA 1. Both my oncologist and internist want me to begin tamoxifen. Unfortuantely, I am one of those patients…

Fluid on lungs
Hello, I believe I read a post sometime ago about fluid on the lungs. Is this something that can happen with ovarian cancer? I just had a chest x-ray to try and find why I have a recurring pain on my right side and a hazy area showed up. I have to have a CT scan of the chest now, and one of the possibilities the…
